Guys, I was curious, 19psi, 93octane, 97 tsi awd manual 3200lbs., STOCK head and block, all supporting mods (fuel, intake, exhaust, gauges, clutch)...put down 300AWHP on a 50-trim. What times should I be expecting, i understand driver makes or breaks times but how much is the car POTENT for? thx.

Ideally you should be in the 12's, but again this is bench racing. Here's a few factors you have to figure.

1. Can you shift, there's just a few dsm's that have no 2nd gear synchro's anymore

2. Do you know when to shift

3. Is that a spike hp number, or is it a steady number

4. That calculator is based on best possible run with minimum hp required, and doesn't factor the cars aerodynamics, friction,....

So considering those, lets look at my cars numbers.
Now to top that off, my best is a 12.86 at 104 mph (at roughly 3150 lbs with me in it). The previous mentioned calculator results are:

et based 276 hp
whp based I would run a 13.29 (using 265 hp, as I dyno'd that at the SO).

So the et based calculation is fairly accurate, though somehow I am better than perfect according to that.

whp based is just shy of being .5 seconds off for my time / power range. To me .5 seconds is a big difference.

This just shows that you can never know until you run. I'm sure some people have reversed results as to the accuracy of the 2 methods.

I think that calculator is wrong for our cars. One thats rear wheel HP not AWD big difference. Also a turbo car is alot different than a N/a car.

with my old trap speed of 98 it says only 244 at the wheels but i ran a 13.7 at this speed. now if you put in my real wheel number of 254 i only run a 13.9 or somthing at 99mph hmmm NOOoo

say what???? that has NOTHING to do with how the calculator works. hp and trap speeds vs. weight are simply based on MATH. "our cars" have nothing to do with the MATH that is used to calculate horsepower.

obviously the calculator is not 100% correct. it is a very useful tool though, and is darn close MOST of the time.....
