I will have my HID lights on the 18th of this month (according to UPS tracking)

I will let everyone know how it goes on wednesday :)

I hope I will be able to see much better!

question: Is it really that big of a differece from halogen lights such as the "cool blues" from sylvania?

i will do :)

i dont know how to post pictures so can anyone host them for me? i have my digital camera but if i could just email them to someone that would be great :)

I know this is an old thread but I had to bring it back.

PUGSX, I like the work you did on the housings and after reading alot of these threads I might end up doing the same. I do have to ask about the photos on your site. The 6000k's with the stock housings don't look so bright, you said that in comparison to the Hella retrofit you did, that the projectors weren't that much brighter. Did you notice any stray light with the factory housings and if so how much. Your's is the only Eclipse I've been able to see with HID installed and after reading other posts i'm wondering how well (or not) the factory reflectors will be able to direct the light.

I dont want to be a road hazard and if that's the case then I'll sell my kit and start looking into finding some factory projectors from other cars or go the Hella 90mm route.

Thanks for any replies.

There was some stray light from the factory housings. However, I feel that the design of our headlights are quite good and there is a decent (if not fuzzy) cut off zone. When I had the HIDs in the stock housings and had someone drive towards me, I did notice a little more glare as compared to halogen bulbs.

My digital camera is also a crappy one (1 megapixel) so it doesn't really do a great job in capturing pics, especially when the surrounding area is really really dark. I personally found the light quality of HIDs in the stock housing to be quite good. I would have left it that way if i didn't just want to try something different.

If you're wondering what HIDs look like in the stock housing, I have a shot on my garage door.

The beam pattern isn't bad. Though I would like to have it as sharp as the Hella projectors. I've heard of people buying Audi TT or Bimmer projector HIDs and retrofitting them in the stock headlight housings similar to PUGSX.

Are the lights sealed on the back? It appears that the Hella's are just kinda open to the air, and the light itself isnt sealed off. So with the hood closed and standing outsdie the car you can see into the engine bay through the back of the housing.
