eBay chips stupid?

Alright, so I've got a 1999 Eclipse G(oes)S(low), and so far I've installed a CAI, Greddy Evo2 Exhaust, new plugs/wires/coilpack.

Those are all of my engine mods, but I wanted to know if there were any additions I could make to increase speed from here without spending 500+ dollars.

I came across some chips on ebay, and I NEVER see anything about them on forums, so what's the deal?

Complete scam or what?

If so, what else can I do?

To be different, I'm gonna say pick up an old style AFC for under $100, a Wideband for $200-300, and possibly a used knock sensor like the J&S Knock guard. Then lean the piss out of it on the best octane you can find.

Hahaha, that eBay listing says it will make your car up to 20 HP faster... I didn't know speed was measured in horsepower these days.

Anyhow, a good chip, JET, Hypertech, SuperChips etc. costs a couple hundred dollars, so I am kind of skeptical that a $9 one is going to do much...

See if any of those companies make one for the 420a.

not worth the money. it is just a resistor that connects to your IAT.
It's a free mod to advance timing. Not worth the $20 dollars. You can buy the resistors at radio shack for a couple cents.
I don't believe that it advances timing. There was a thread on this a while back and all these little resistors do is fool the ecu into thinking that there's more cool, dense air coming into the engine than what there really is, so the ecu throws in more fuel to compensate.

So if anything it would probably make your car feel sluggish in the lower and possibly upper rpm's.

thought it did the opposite and leaned it out
