Mivec Dsm

I know this is out there, I felt like asking something odd. Is it possible to swap in the EVOIX's mivec system valvetrain and calibrate with a standalone system. possibly resulting in a good street economic gas mileage, but when you exceed a preset RPM, it gets an aggresive map, and holds the aggresive map through the gears for several seconds.
Just a thought, probably not possible, but it would be interesting!

I read this on another forum and it will not work because the head of an Evo is backwards from the head of a dsm. Therefore everything would ahve to be switched around. However, if someone had the time and money I'm sure a similar system could be developed.

Sorry we aren't like the Hondas who can reach into a grab bag and put a Kseries head on a Bseries motor.

OK, I KNOW THAT THE EVO ENGINE WILL NOT FIT IN A 2G!!!!!
however, I have never seen anyone attempt to put it in reveresed, where the turbo is in the rear, and the intake is in the front like a SRT-4 engine, and use the conversion to FWD, and fit it in a GST. custom making a drive shaft from Driveshaftshop.com, an AEM ECM replacement would control it, and you fabricate mounts from the stock as they will now be in the general area.
I undersatnd that this is most likely not possible, and if so, very expensive. But insight would be cool.

Why? Do you have a crap load of money you'd like to waste? If so,I'll take some of it and help you build a monster with your stock motor setup. There is absolutely no reason for someone to attempt this unless they have a spare evo motor lying around, Actually,I take that back. I'd sell the evo motor to someone and buy a 6 bolt block to build up. :tat:

Anything is possible with enough money but you have to ask yourself the question, why?

As far as swapping in an evo Engine. Assuming your talking about Evo IV +.... the time and money it takes to succesfully convert is no better than saving up your money and upgrading your dsm. (Performance wise)

Been there, discussed that...

We discussed this months ago, and discovered that while yes it is possible, it is definately not practical. You can make just as much, if not more power for less money with a dsm motor than with an evo engine. Do a search and you may be able to find the old thread.

Info on the pics. Both cars were originally 420a cars and are still fwd, they are located in Tawaiin. The idea was that since the engine already sits 180' and so does the evo, why not swap them. to my knowledge, custom motor mounts were used and I have no clue what tranny/flywheel or clutch they're using.

DO NOT EMAIL ME ASKING HOW TO DO THE SWAP, USE YOUR THINKER AND FIGURE IT OUT...

Yeah..you can put an EVO engine in a 2G. EVO I-III.

If you want an EVO IV+ motor so much, go buy a car that comes with one already.

Who's talking about those? The Evo 1-3 engines drop right into a 2g. Both of the cars shown above have Evo4-8 engines. I believe one is from an Evo5 and the other may be from an Evo6.

I know that the 1-3 fits, I was talking about the 4-9 reversed 4G's, thank you for the pics, I am not wanting to do this, I was just wondering if it had been done, or could be done.....

I and every other Honda guy wishes that were possible. It's not a "grab baggy" as you think it might be.
