Sorry I haven't posted this sooner, we have been busy, Jim got married, Military owning me, yadda yadda. lol

The calipers and rotors came off of an 03 Evo8, had to get the steering knuckles from overseas. All I can say is WOW!!!! before, I had to sometimes pull off to the shoulder to avoid running into people. Now, it's effortless. I have been debating on which big brake kit to go with, fortunately, these calipers/rotors fell into my lap. :D Even if you buy the calipers, this can be done for less than half of what a major brand would cost, all 4, not just the front. The rears are direct bolt on, just need to trim the dust shield. The fronts are direct bolt on with the new knuckles, I removed the dust shield. All in all, I am satisfied 110%!!! Here are some pics:

All I got to say is DAMN!! I never would've thought about doing that. Do you have a part number for the steering knuckles or anything? Those would be even more useful. I sure would like to know part numbers. I work with cars, (suspension, tires, brakes) on a daily basis and again, VERY interested!!

There's another thread about this on here too. Look up a member on here named "mitsumissle" he has a lot of info on this. The knuckles come from a jdm Galant, they are different than usdm Galant ones.

Thanks guys...

yes, mitsumissile was my POC for these. He is on here as well as dsmtuners. I paid him for them on monday and I had them installed that same friday. I paid $540 shipped via DHL 2-3 day service to NJ. He was very prompt and a pleasure to deal with!! You can't get them here, I tried going through JNZ, as they said they got them before, but mitsu superceeded them to a new number and they would be stock 2G's, not the JDM ones. Night and day difference is all I have to say.

I have had this in the back of my mind since well before even the first thread popped up. I guess I just have too many projects going on to focus on one. However, wasn't there some talk of reverse engineering the brackets that are used to mount 2G brakes onto a EVO? That is a common swap for drag cars to fit smaller wheels but I have never heard any definitive answers. It seems that it would be much cheaper and easier than sourcing JDM knuckles. I would be willing to do some work on this but I would need pictures and measurements at the very least to see what I could come up with. If it works out I may be able to provide a solidworks rendering that people could use to get them CNC'd. If anyone is interested or has any more information please let me know.

By the way they look GREAT! My 2G is very jealous.

The distance between the caliper mounting bolts. You cant make a bracket to fit on the stock 2g knuckles, the holes aren't off by that much.
Thanks for the info. I'm going to have to try to get ahold of a set of evo brakes. Another question, are the brake hoses all the same or do you need them off a evo?

So pretty much for everything to work you will need: 99 to 03 JDM Galant steering knuckles, EVO 8 calipers and rotors. Sounds like the rears are a straight bolt-on. The fronts need all the work.

Damn.... That's sick man.

Those calipers would never fit the stock 17in' rims for the 2g's huh?
Depends on what the offset is on the stock 2g 17"s. The stock offset on the EVOs is about 37mm or 38mm. And if they don't fit I am sure you could get away with some very thin spacers. Or just go get some new wheels. :D
