Exhaust sticking "out to the side"? Do they sell those?

The other day I was coming home and I saw a 2g DSM sitting on the side of the freeway (I wonder why), and he had the NICEST muffler sticking out at a kind-of 45 degree angle in the back.

I thought that looked way cooler than just having it stick out straight.

I'm guessing there are 2 ways to accomplish that:

1) Weld in a longer piper by the muffler inlet and bend it.

2) buy a pre-made kit?

Anybody knows much about this?

Alot of the v-8 guys that used to come into my stepdads shop wanted this. I don't think he charged anything extra, if he was making you a custom exhaust that was part of your choices. Oh and he did use a bender to make the pipe come out at that angle as I am sure most exhaust shops will.

Well my exhaust comes over my rear end and into the muffler at an angle do to where it has to fit, the exhaust shop actually used piping to make the tip come out straight, I don't know what gen you drive but both of my first gen's would comeout at an angle on thier own if I didnt have them make it straight.

Like they all said up there though, if it comes out straight just ask your exhaust shop to make a bend and have it come out at an angle they shouldn't charge you extra. Just my .02

Oh and sorry I'm at work, I can't look at your e bay stuff, but custom exhaust shops will run cat back and turbo back for around 200-300 bucks if you find a good place, fuck E bay and just have it run custom, then you can have it anyway you want.

Thats about how much it is in my area I don't know about where you are, on my N/T I got my 40 series, my 2.5 in header back, for 240, I kinda got a deal b/c I knew the guy but regular customers would have only paid 3 something. For my TSi I got custom 3in, the CAT removed and CAT back for right around 400.

Just buy a downpipe in addition to the catback and you will have a turboback. Apexi makes a downpipe.

for the 1G it seems that apexi don't make the N1 downpipe anymore was at the website and nothing on it.

I bought the HKS Carbon-Ti cat back. It is angled out and up like you're talking about. If you don't want the carbon version, the regular Hi Power exhaust has the same look to it.
NO!!! HKS Hi-Power is a piece of shit. It isn't a true 3", has unnesessary bends, and rusts. Oh and it burns your bumper. Get a Buschur, or a N1 with a RRE downpipe.

IT all depends on what you want. If you want 100% name brand..then buy a OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive cat-back.

But if it doesnt matter that much,
Just buy a Muffler, anyone will be fine,
And go to an exhaust shop and have them make you a custom Turbo-Back.

Depending on your emmisions,
you might have to have a cat, but then just buy one also.

They can make the exhaust HOWEVER you want.
And it will be cheaper then just buying a catback.

I have a custom exhaust, its $20 to bend it, you could bend your stock one if you like.
Anyways, be wary of which exhausts, My DSM has been flatbedded (ahemm..) and the bottom of the muffler scrapped and I didnt know it until I failed an emmisions test b/c of exhaust leak. just make sure your 3" isnt "too" low, I welded it back up, and raised it- hasnt happened since.
Honestly, IMO- aftermarket exhaust without bend can be more rare than one with them, unless its custom made.
