Yes, ive seen it done and it doesnt look bad at all.

 

I have seen the gap also, and I though it would be cool to put some sort of a plastic grille in the gap. It is same of what Honda Preludes have, but obviously the Eclipse's would be a lot thinner in size because the gap isn't that big.

 

i have a 95, also with projectors.......are you also thinking about putting on a body kit? if so, then get a 97-99 front end and that will eliminate the headlight gap

They will bolt right on and fit with a small gap like you have said. For reference here is my car with one 95/96 headlight and one 97+ headlight. There is no bumper on the car but you can still see the difference in the lights.
