Hey I have a 1995 eagle talon TSI FWD AUTOMATIC, now I will go and get my fluids all changed but my question is:

Is there only transmission fluid that needs to be changed or is there some other fluid to be changed IE gear oil, or transfer case oil, I don’t know my friend was showing me on my car he was like oh you have 2 drain plugs for the transmission fluid and one for the gear oil or transfer case, not sure what he said, so WTF do I have to change??

Another question I use MOBIL 1 full synthetic AUTOMATIC tranny fluid, I only use 3.5 bottles correct? This is my first tranny change since I got the car *last year*, but I did motor oil changes every 2 months lol

I will also be changing the tranny filter so yea, thanks for the help.

Oh wow, dude do you think I would post this if I didn’t already do that? Why do you insist on wasting my time with this crap *SEARCH* I always search but when I can’t find something I ask so again, if you have no answer for me don’t post. Geesh.

I really hope your kidding, I just searched and came up with multiple threads about this with in the first minute of me searching. So dont tell me you did search.

I'm not trying to piss you off or anything I'm just saying that this could of easly been found if you would of spent a little time and searched.

I recomend doing it yourself if possible. Don't take it to a tranny shop like aamco because their main business is rebuilds and stay away from 'power flushes' too. I'd be wary about going to jiffy lube and would feel a little better about a place like sears auto, maybe. A trusted local mechanic who has no vested interest in opening up your trans might be the best bet. I'd probably bring my own fluid + filter so there's no confusion in getting the right fluid and filter set. My tranny usually spits out 5-1/2--6 qts (if I'm not mistaken) and after re-filling I run the car on the road for like 20 min and then drain that and re-fill again. If I'm feeling particularly festivius that day I'll repeat that process 1 more time. Use a torque wrench on the filter bolts and pan and check the pan gasket a couple times for any signs of leaking. DEFINATELY read 'extending tranny life' by transdude in the A/T forum. It's a sticky and will really help you out. Oh yeah, when you get the filter + gasket set it's a good idea to line the gasket up to the outside of the pan to make sure you got the right set, trust me on that one. Don't forget to browse in the A/T forum.
