Fouled a plug??

Ok I've been having issues which I thought were caused by my bov blowing open. Did the dgm to the bov and it seemed to get worse??? At first it was feeling and sounding like the bov was fluttering at around 23 psi (t28 boost spike) and the car would kinda stutter untill boost dropped some.

Well the problem got worse to the point that it started feeling like a miss, or misfire (doing it at as little as 17psi). So I start checking my plugs and when I get to #1 it is soaked in oil. Freaking out thinking I burned a piston or something I hurry and do a compression check. Compression is good. Same in #1 as #4. So I clean and regap all the plugs. Take the car out and run it hard, and it is running damn good now. I think the plug may have been slowly fouling and getting worse over the last week or so, but after running the car hard I come home and check the plug again and it's bone dry. NO OIL....

Should I be concerned? The car has close to 100k on it and I don't think the motors been touched other than reg maint, and t-belt. Still runs great!

I think your best bet at this point would be to do a leakdown test, again I would suspect your valve stem seals are bad.

What part of Idaho are you from?

I was afraid of that. I will be changing out cams next week but don't feel up to changing the seals yet especially since it requires a 200 dollar tool if you don't pull the head. Oh well if it acts up again I guess I'll know what to check first.

I'm in Idaho Falls. You must be northern Idaho.

Thanks.

Bigolsen, I to get that fluttering sound that you are describing with my T28. You ever figure out what that was? I have checked everything and still don't know where it is coming from.
After changing plugs and Bov I haven't had the problem. I think it was mainly my old plugs because I was running really rich for so long before I had an afpr.
