Since traction is a big problem, what a about a T3/4? Has good top end power. You can get mid 12s on a big16G or 18G too but its up to you....

 

I never thought about the t3/4 but I have thought about the big 16g. Its a nice turbo but I thought the big 28 and big 16g are pretty close in hp, except the big 28 is direct bolt on.

 

Comeing form a 1g guy. I say you go with the Big T28. It is a great upgrade from the T25. And it spools up alittle faster. I think. But it has more topend flow. Good luck man.

 

When you say direct bolton do you exactly a DIRECT bolt-on? I mean, no kit no porting or moving things it just goes right in? Anything direct bolt to a 1G? I just bought mine. 94

 

Nope no modifying its a direct bolt on to my 2g, its the same as my t-25 with internal mods. So I guess the answer to my ? is to go with the big 28. Force Performance here I come! Man praying to the car gods does work.

Sounds like a frank lvl 2 or green would be right up your alley.

 

for traction.. what would be sufficent to run mid 13s on street tires?
struts,coils,tower bars... bushings,?

400hp in your car on pump gas is going to be nearly impossible. I would say go with the Big 28. However, you must consider that you may have some traction problems with its quick spool up time. Also plan on getting fuel modifications.

 

I have the fuel mods just not on yet. I have a 255walbro and 660 injectors which I thought would be perfect for what ever turbo I did get. I do have a FWD so I don't want to go with a green cuz I feel it would be to much wheel spin. And the injectors will be good for a big 16 or big 28.

 

The problem with FWD's and small turbo's (big16g's and smaller) is that they spool too fast, which is why you get bad wheelspin. I have talked to a few people with FWD's that have had these turbo's and upgraded to 20g's and larger and said that the lag helped them control wheelspin substantially. Sounds like a little turbo lag is a good thing for us FWD people. I have some traction isues with a big16g, but its a great turbo on the highway where I am most of the time.:santa: It's not going to get you even close to 400whp though. You definately need one of the big boys for that.

 

I would have to go with the Big 16G. Less traction problems for a FWD than a T-28, cheaper and more top end power. If your are going to upgrade to a 20G later, if you have the Big 16G installed, it is easier to upgrade. A big 16G can be upgraded to a 20G.
