gst vs a 5.0

So i had a guy offer to run me from a stop this up comming weekend in his 5.0 92 mustang. he said its almost stock has exhuast and a cold air intake. But idk about that bc he showed me a pic and he has a set of huge ass slics on the back. I have a 97 gst 6 bolt cyclone swap ported 2g mani ported and clipped EVO 3 16g 3" open down pipe 1st gen intake mani 255 fuel pump 19 psi. i just wanna know whats yalls opinions im on street tires and fwd so im at a disadvantage already. what do you think can i win or probally not.

honestly i have no idea....ive beaten 5.0's before easily but i have AWD...but the thing about a 5.0 is you never know whats in them....i mean if you can't hear the SC whine thats fine but they have strong motors and ive seen some react very well to bolt-on's. i know this didnt help lol...best of luck though.

if hes got slicks and he wants to run from a stop, he knows (likely) what hes talking about. When racing someone like this, use your imagination, expect the most mods. Its from a stop, your gonna be at a serious disadvantage, you might not catch him at the end of the 1/4.

tell him you want to go from roll or nothing.

stock good running 5.0 run around 15.1's with a good driver. So with slicks and a few power adders he's in the mid 14's. If you race him at the strip, your 60' is going to make you or break you. If your spinning through 1st entirely, your probably not going to catch him, but with a 2.0 60' or maybe lower.. you'll catch him, but if this is going to happen on the street tell him 0-110, first one there wins. Because if it's on the street he's going to have a major advantage over you with traction, compaired to the strip.

to be fair from a stop, he needs to give u two cars cause he's got slicks on or tell him to put street tires on which will be easier for u to beat him.
and yep, mustang guys= full of shits. they talk alot of shits about 4 bangers.

ok so last night when out and meet up with this guy. once i saw the car and how big his slics were i knew i was in trouble. also found out he had full drag suspension so that didnt help either. well needless to say i lost by about 3 cars . i did however beat a supra from a 30 and 40 roll wanted to stop but whe wouldnt

14.7 is the stock 1/4 time for a 5.0L mustang. With slicks, 4.10 gears, 10-minute tuneup, and a short belt to bypass the AC and Power Steering, they have seen 12's. Slicks on the street aren't really good for traction, you can get the same with drag radials.

Because there is so much out there, it's not hard to make a 5.0L foxbody car fast. Hell, a friend of mine bought a coupe last weekend, and for what he paid for it, he got a good deal. It should run a low 13 as it sits, high 12 with traction. All it has is a cam, longtubes, and 4.10's.

My friend of mine, he has one of slow pathentic 4.6, but when he blew up his motor, he rebuilt it using a 5.0 stroker set up, I don't know what the fuck was done to this thing, but all motor is around 380, then he has two different set up for nos, 100 shot and a 200 shot, the 100 shot, he's about 520, then 200 he's like fucking 680, and thats not bullshitting u, I seen the graph, the things a nos happy engine thats for sure.. but this things sounds like it also has work done to it. but those engine aren't slow for the money he spent, he only put I'm thinking about 4 thousand into it, thats not a lot for fucking those numbers..
