Um overrunning the stock fpr means that there is too high of a volume of fuel in the rail resulting in too high of pressure because i can't feed thru the hole in the regulator, and has nothing to do with this. Please don't misinform the original poster.
No shit. Where do you think that fuel goes ? And it most certainly does have to do with this. Many cars that run a modified LARGE pump ( i.e. 255, Cosmo, Supra ) will over run the stock regulator, and when the car is warm, can cause hot starts. I know first hand, happened on my car about 8 years ago.

Get off my back. I was modding DSM's while you were still in High School.

I donno man, you are gonna have to talk to mikerizz he has all the answers.
What is your problem ? Having a bad night or are you always an asshole ? I never said I had " all the answers ", just pointed out that YOUR answer was wrong. Maybe you should spend more time thinking about your own replies, before you go trying to act like a big shot and correct other peoples.

Well I'm having the same problem with my 1g. I'm running a 255 and it randomly started happing a few months ago, and Just got worse and worse to the point that it will only run fine for 5 min.
Do you get shitty ass mileage? Are you running an AFPR at all?

I replaced the one next to the gauge sender, it wasnt even bad because i tested it with a voltmeter according to the directions in the hayes repair manual and everything was within specs. I put the new one in anyway.
So i should change the one on the thermostat housing? Where can i get that one, i can only find the other 2 sensors (the ones not on the thermostat housing) at any auto parts places. According to the hayes manual that one on the thermostat housing IS for the A/C are you sure its for the ecu?

Do you know anyone with a 1g data logger ? If so connect it to the car and check to see what temps the ECU is logging. If it's the temp switch, you will know right away as the coolant temp will be abnormally low. If not, you can at least rule that out.

Make sure you pull back the jacket on the sensor wiring, mine broke about 1" up and you could not see it until I did this.

I have the same problem...
Im pretty sure its because my fuel pressure drops off almost instantly.

It used to be worse with my 450's...
Not too bad now that I have 780's although I cant see injecters affecting that. (I have a chip...)

Hopefully I dont have that problem anymore after today as I am installing an aeromotive fpr aswell as a new fuel filter.

Good luck.

I think after the car sits after running the fuel is still pressureized and one of the injectors leaks some fuel into the chamber? becuase it starts fine if i start it within 5 minutes (not flooded enough yet) or after 25 minutes (fuel pressure has dropped and injector no longer leaks). When i do start it and have to keep my foot on the gas a little to clear up the missfire it smells like its running very rich until it clears up and then the smell goes away. Is it hard to replace the injectors? anyway i can tell if there leaking without removing them? or could it be entirely something else like the FPR.

well i figured it out, i cant beleive it was so simple. In a hunch i decided to unplug the fpr solenoid and then try to do a hot restart and see what happens, but after i unplugged it i noticed a bunch of white crap that looks just like that white stuff the builds up on the battery terminal sometimes. So i cleaned off the connector nicely and then plugged it back in. Starts up fine now every time! Thanks for your help guys. Also do you think this has anything to do with me not passing emissions (see this thread) http://www.dsmtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=195293

OK, this must be it. I read in the hayes manual that the fpr solenoid should hold vacuum when battery voltage is applied and release vacuum with no voltage. Well i put the vacuum hose from the fpr into my mouth (i dont have a hand held vacuum pump) and sucked (no jokes please) no voltage at the solenoid, vacuum pulls through, then i applied voltage to it, heard it click but its still letting vacuum through. So thats gotta be it right? also i verified this being the problem by removing the vacuum hose from the fpr and then tryng several hotstarts and there all fine. I guess when i cleaned the contacts it worked for a day and then quit. now where can i get one of these solenoids?

I've had the same problem for awhile, when the car didn't start, I took out the plugs, and they were wet from fuel. The car is non-turbo, and the fuel pressure is about 50 psi, I thought it could be that. Sometimes I would take off the fuel return hose, crank the car a few times with the hose off, and then it would start. Obviously, one person has to hold the hose and another crank the car, so you don't have a lot of fuel spraying around. I'm still trying to find out what's making the car not start always. If I get to it, I'll let you know. I also thought about the inyectors leaking, but I have to try them and see if it's that.
