Yes I am the one with the 1G TB in my back seat on Saturday. I have had that thing for a couple of months and haven't had a time to install it on my car. I need enough time to port the elbow and the intake manifold. When I bought mine I got it for 35 shipped. It was a deal considering most go for around 45-60. When you guys get your TB and are ready to install it, let me know, we should have a porting party, cause we are going to need to port a shit load off of the intake manifold for it to match up. Boosted98GSX, I'm not the one interested in your rims, Juan is. I plan on keeping my rims for along time until I can pay off some bills and in my opinion, mine look better...hehe :p

matt, from the info i have read up on, if you want THE best egt gauge, then i would suggest the greddy w/ the warning light. it will run you anywhere from $250-$280 but will be worth the extra money. if your that weary of your temp because the greddy is more accurate and has a better probe than the autometer.

andy, dont you think $200 a rim is a little expensive? and ontop of that they have a recall? try putting them on dsm trader for $100 a piece and theyll be gone like hot cakes.

who was it that was looking for a turbo timer? i got mine (hks-type o) for $95 shipped and a harness. thats probly 10-15 less than anywhere else. let me know if your serious and i will see what i can do.

jw check your pm.

i have discovered a new egt gauge. well, it is an egt readout.
it is digital and used for aircrafts.
it can read in 1 degree or 10 degree increments.
it is accurate to +-1 degree. it costs 250 dollars and is really worth it imho. i need real numbers, not estimates.
the display is liquid crystal, like an alarm clock. and is red.
it measures 3"x2"x.25".
i'll post the link to it if interested.

Tristam, I might be interested in the timer. I have the Greddy but dont have the harness. The problem I have is it wont turn on the fan when I remove the key. It's dangerous to run without the fan. I may have hook it up wrongly but I am still trying to see if I can get it to work properly. If not, I will get the timer you are using since the fan still work without the key.

As for the TB, the earlier 1G (89-90) has 2 vacuum lines compared to the later years with 4. I dont think anything else is different other than that. If you are going to remove all the unnecessary vacuum lines, the 89-90 TB should still work fine. Read more about removing unnecessary vacuum lines if you are planning to do it. I dont know much about the 2G and it's effect but 1G works pretty good with no problem whatsoever.

For all the 1G guys looking to get an EGT gauge, I would strongly suggest you to get a logger instead. I have the pocket logger and it's a wonderful thing. 1G is able to read knock sums which is really good for tuning. With good timing advance and min knocks, the EGT should work out fine. Besides, a logger prepare you for more mods down the road. You will learn more with a logger than an EGT.
Just my 2 cents.

http://www.discounttire.com/dtc/fin...?step=products&productType=WHEEL&sortOrder=Specials&wheelRimSize=16&plusSize=OE

If you are looking for rims look here. Its discount tires selection. You can get nicer and lighter rims than stock with tires brand new for around 800 or so for the whole set. If stock are going to run you that much then go ahead and get some nice rims that will save some weight as well. 200 per stock rim is way to high unless you found 4 seperate guys who all cracked one rim a peice amd need one replacement well thats my thought but through discount you get pretty good prices and you should be able to lose like 40 pounds combined in rims alone.

hahaha. sorry huy. i keep forgeting.

jw, what is necessary to utilize the pocketlogger, i have a 91 gsx.
i am actually getting a aem ems in a few months so shouldnt i just stick with my aircraft egt gauge, and my ems???

if we do decide on getting together to port throttle bodies and intakes im in. we can all take our dremel kits to the shop and have some fun. do we got a deal?

i baught a turbo today, it is getting shipped in two days, and i also am getting some stonger dunrite end clutches and a dundrite shift kit, my auto is going to haul some ass. i also got a new custom shifter so that i can see my cd player as the stock monster covers the entire center console.

Good Morning all & happy Monday! I had a frigin blast Friday night! Tristan thanks for the invite really enjoyed myself. I thought that last spot we went to was the best, just wish we could get more guys out there, one bad thing is that i think theres only one way outta there? Oh hell fuckit it was cool. I am going to go buy the stuff today for my exhuast manifold and will begin fabrication probably this weekend. Witch means there will be a mig welder being used for this. If anyone needs any type of welding done let me know i'll hook you up for real cheap:D

I think I am going to bring that computer to the shop this week so we will have an in shop pc with all the software and info needed to assist in tech work. Does anyone have an old surge protector I could sware I have one somewhere but i looked everywhere this weekend and couldn't find one. I know where i can get some wood to build a small bench at the shop. If anyone has any peg board laying around bring it up to the shop so we can start to hang stuff. Shit shure is starting to build up in that one corner.

What up CSP? Really good to meet you guys maybe we'll see yall on a track night at HRP.

Hey Denis, what sup? Didnt see you on Sat. meet?

Juan, you will need a palm and the whole logger deal includes a cable and software. I think it's $155 or something. Check out www.pocketlogger.com
I use it everyday and it's the best investment ever. Also, there is still no news on when EMS is coming out for the 1G. With the $1500 price tag, I will stay away until I am ready to run 10s :D

Anyway, an update:
We still have not got the DSMLink to work. There are a few things to try out and test to narrow down the problem. We have to test it on a 2G car that has no CE light currently with their stock ECU (Josh, you there?) and see if it trigger a CE light on theirs. If it does, we can go ahead with plan B. Basically, I want to narrow down if the problem is bad soldering (done by me unfortunately), the diagnostic port, bad chip, wrongly configured laptop or the software. By doing a few test, we should be able to narrow down fairly quickly.

JW, FMIC stuff has been unzipped in your folder and looks NICE!

I havent gotten a chance to post on the dsmlink yahoo group. Ill probably do it on my lunch break.

computer @ the shop ?

hey dennis, if your serious about hookin up a computer i havea computer stand that my bro. wants to get rid of--he says we can have it but i need to pick it up from san antonio. so if we want it let me know.

Port throttle bodys:confused: I don't suggest anyone port their throttle body, porting will never give you a perfectly circular inlarged opening, the only way to do this correctly would be to bore it out, on a an end mill/lathe or a badass drill press. Porting will only disturb the airflow as it enters the throttle body not increasing performance but cuasing poor atomization and higher risk of detonation cuase of the lack of constant air pressure. I know a machinist and have been meaning to stop by and talk to him. He owes me some favors so i figured i might get him to bore my N/T throttle body out one night this week. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

I couldn't make it Sat. my wife hung with me friday till 3:00 am and she was damn sure i was going to hang with her on sat. anyway sorry i missed you guys Jw ~ did you get that elbow? I brought one of those t-bolt clamps up to the shop friday. If needed i can bring that puter up to the shop tonight for DSM link purposes.

Tristan ~ Defenitly we want it! that would be perfect for the shop, i was going to have the guys here at my work make me a rudementary one for now but if you can get your hands on one hell yeah!!! Pm me and let me know what's up, if need be Stacey (Camaroman) will be in San Antonio all this week and could probably bring it back for us if it's not to large, i'll call and ask n=him later day.

Jon, the links to the pictures didnt show up right. Is this a *nix box? The caps on the filenames maybe the cause of the problem.

I got a 90 degree 2.5" rad hose to fit and run. Now, there is a leak somewhere around the BOV. It's either the weld joint on the BOV flange to IC pipe or the BOV or whatever, I will check it out again when I get the DSM link working.

Ill go in and double check for you. Do you remeber what the error was that we were getting with the dsmlink?
