many people have used cut out vinyl to cover these middle pieces, the shiny plastic-type vinyl, not the leather-type of course, lol. Kinda off topic here, but are those little metal letters that spell out ECLIPSE in the middle just held on by adhesive? Can I just pick these off? Thanks

i think paint would look 10 times better then vinyl anyday.. thats just me


and yes the letters eclipse are just held on by adhesive.. u can just peel them off and when they are off use goo gone to get that exrta crap off of there..

my clear said speed.. using the eclipse letters.. the c and l made d

onmy middle piece now its paint matched with the word eclipse in fushcia pearl.. its hard to see from far though.. the guy who painted my car just did it.. i was like.. thats cool

damn how'd you get that creative to come up with speed, lol. Maybe i'll try that, haha. Never seen that one before, so I don't know if i'll like it or not. Well I think i'm gonna try vinyl first since it's cheap (couple bucks from fabric store) and also I can just scrape it off if I don't like it, paint is harder to get off as I have already experienced that the first time fucking up painting my door panel, lol . Thanks for the cool tip though on the speed thingy.

a lot of body shops won't paint the center piece since its plastic (like the one working on my car right now). However all they have to do is scuff the plastic up real well and the paint should stick.

most paint places i know dont mind doing it.. the guy who did my car didnt.. they are just lazy..

when u say vinyl at the fabric store do u mean the fabric kind. like seats are made outta?? i think that would look horrible and it would stick to the back without using a glue of sorts??

i think they meant stick on vinyl like what decals are made off.. my boys 01 accord had this vinyl over his tails.. in black it looks good cept for the bubbles in it.. at night or from far it looked good..

since the vinyl is some what shinny.. but paint and clear will always look better.. man id save ur cash and just have a paint shop do it for you.. i mean 40 bucks is not much cash..

but i have pics of the speed on a clear tail light if you want to see it

and if you want i have a extra CF altezza middle piece i dont neeed i can let it go cheap.. so u can practice on it..

greenstreak,the spoiler is a GTR spoiler.They make several styles.You can them from many retailers.

It is not a normal GTR though. Most like the Kaminari, WW, etc. have a big section that cover the trunk lid too. This one is a 3 piece which would let me retain my toenail stock spoiler also. WW makes a 3 pc. kinda like this for the 3G eclipse that I may try but the lines are more swept back on this one and will make for a better profile.

that wing is one piece, it just overlaps the quarterpanels, look at it closely, if it was three pieces the hatch wouldn't be able to open

evan2- i would like to see the pics of ur clear with the word speed in it. I just took off my eclipse writing in the middle yesterday and those suckers are hard to get off without ruining them, I kinda ripped apart the second e, oh well. I'm either leaving it red or just gonna cover it black. Anyone know how to get the sun faded ECLIPSE outta the taillight when you take the letters off? I'm thinkin it's kinda like when you get like a tanline, so if i put it on the car like that after a while you won't be able to tell at all. It's not that noticeable now, just wondering if it's gonna get any better.

oh and of course i meant the decal-type vinyl, haha the seat kinda vinyl I have some right now as I'm workin on my interior, damn that would look FUGLY!

be careful when you take the letters off.. put some goo gone on them and let it sit for a bit.. and be careful...

umm its really hard to get the eclipse outta there after u take it off.. i just tried to clean mine really good.. its not painted so it doesnt matter much


and griff is right u can see it doesnt attach to the body just the trunk or it would never open up
