How to wire StreetGlow Neon Tube?

I have a 20" streetglow Neon Tube and would like to know how to wire it to come on when my amps come on. Is this possible? The tube has a cigarette lighter connection with on or off switch and I really don't want to use that. It says you can cut it and run to 12V source. If I do that and run it to the 12v source of the amp then it will always be on. My ams turn on when the stereo turns on. They are wired to the remote turn on. Theres got to be a way to make the tube automatically come on with the amps. Any other suggestions would be nice too. How are you guys hooking them up.

What's wrong with using a light to show off your audio system?
Nothing as long as it's tatefull.. namely DONT SHOW THE TUBE..

But follow the directions above.
Negative to the ground on your amp and Pos to the Remote and there you go..

ralays suck and but help if you have alot of power going threw it personally i wouldn't use one but get a switch to wire a switch without a light it will have 2 metal prongs on the back on goes to the 12v and the other goes to the accessorie. for a switch with a light you will have 3 prongs the middle lights up switch and you put a 12v to that and one other prong and the 3rd one to accessorie i hope this helps

No need to wire it to a switch unless you want to turn it on and off. If you just want it to turn on with the amp, just make sure you have a good guage wire so you dont starve your amp/neon of power.

Personally, I have no problem with neon. I HATE TOOBAGE though. As long as it glows and doesnt just show a tube, I like it. I have 2 7-color underbody LED kits, and I love it. If you do it right, it looks nice. You can't see any tubes, and it illuminates the entire underbody of my car, not everything AROUND the car. When I get my car back from the shop, I'm putting neon on the inside too... Why? I want a nice car overall, go AND show.

To each his own.

relay's are the CORRECT way of doing it.

pin 85 - remote turn on lead
pin 86 - ground
pin 87 - +12v constant (big wire from amp works fine)
pin 87a - not used
pin 30 - output to your neon tube and to remote turn on for the amplifier.

done. relays are really easy once you've done a few thousand of them. rarely a single day goes by that i don't use one.

or just throw the neon tube in a lake, watch it sink like titanic and be done with it :p
