Any body doing this? My friend just got the pipes and a new 1g BOV, but the pipes are flanged for a Greddy type s. I told him yo just cut the flange off and put a new one on for the 1g valve. He does,nt want to do that because of messing up the powder coating. Any other options?

A couple of options off the top of my head...

HRC sells a 1G BOV "modded" (i.e. - redrilled the holes to match the Type-S flange) for their UIC Pipe

-or-

If your friend has the 1G BOV already, then just redrill the holes himself and RTV it to the flange (which HRC had suggested to me... I have yet to decide on which IC pipes to get; but I think I'd rather get pipes that have the correct flange for whatever BOV I end up getting).

Wouldn't HRC weld on a 1G flange to their UIC Pipe if you asked?

He said that they would only sell it with a Greddy flange on it. He is very picky when it comes to stuff. he didnt want to redrill holes in the valve because of looks. I told him the easiest thing to do is to just cut the old one off and weld on a flange for the 1g BOV, but he said he would have to try and match up paint to the powder coating then. By this point I just told him I dont know what to tell you.

I may be able to shed some light here.

We do not offer a 1G BOV flange on our piping 'cuz:

1. The large 'ears' of the flange on the 1G BOV will interfere with the fuse / relay panel.
2. Efficiency of production: we make these in large quantities. The majority of folks go with an aftermarket BOV.

Drilling and tapping two 6x1.0mm holes in the valve, and trimming the 'ears', is quite straightforward. Takes us about 5 minutes. The result is not at all unattractive, and the owner still retains the capability to go to an aftermarket valve in the future (it need not be Greddy, as Blitz and some other Japanese companies use the same flange design).

If you like, email me and I will provide photos of a modded valve.

Question for all: should we consider putting such photos and info on our website?

TurboXS also sells GReddy flange adaptors.. so there's one more choice for an aftermarket BOV.

HRC: yes, I think such info would be very useful on your site.. I had the same questions a month or two ago. I was able to find out some what I needed through a series of e-mails with your tech guys, but I didn't know pictures existed and I never did get confirmation on if the 'ears' were cut off your modified BOV.

I would suggest you put that info, along with pics (mounted and unmounted, and close up shots), and even though this should be obvious to most, let everyone know that you guys use fresh, brand new 1G BOVs for this mod.

does anyone know who sells gaskets for the GReddy flanged BOVs? i have yet to come across a vendor.. closest I could find was gaskets for 1G flanged BOVs but I don't think these can/should be modified for the GReddy flange :p

I think that more photos would definatley be a plus. Also any accompaning information about those pictures/products would be great.
