I'm torn, what turbo should I get

I'm going to be installing a recently rebuilt cyclone motor with 2G pistons in my 92 AWD Talon in a week or so and I think while the motor is out, I would like to put on a new exhaust manifold and turbo. The problem is that I can't decide which turbo to get. I have contemplated getting anything ranging from a EVO3 16G turbo and manifold to a smaller GT series hybrid. I'm not trying to run 10's, but my goal is to be able to run low 12's on pump gas and maybe break into the high 11's with race gas. I already have an ACT2600, Walbro 255, GM MAFT and will probably get 660cc injectors. The EVO 16G looks like a smoking deal, but I'm afraid I won't be satisfied. I have heard some people say they didn't notice much of a difference between their 14b and the 16G. Any opinions?

If you want to get consistent low 12's of pumpgas then I would suggest getting something in the tune of a 20g or similar. A 16g will definitely get you into the 12's, but not many have gotten into the low 12's on the pump.

I would like to get a turbo with an internal gate setup to keep the cost down and also I will most likely have to route the wastegate outlet back into the exhaust since emissions is becoming an issue here. The Green seems to have an awesome reputation, but I see a lot of Garret hybrids like those from PTE that seem to offer similar performance but are about $300 below the cost of the Green.

I love my EVO16g, but it is FAR from a big, heavy-hitter turbo. It is worlds apart from the stock 14b but still far back of the big boys. One of my buddies has a big HKS on his 1G and his car is faster @ 15psi than mine is @ 17psi. I think the EVO16g is a great daily driver turbo, but wouldn't be my choice for 11sec runs.

PTE 50-trim internally gated. Ran 11.28 on my friend's '91 GSX on a stock longblock on race gas, so should be good for 12's on the pump. Plus it's not as outdated as the 20G and looks better than it too. Otherwise if you want to pay a bunch of money, the FP Green is about the same, but there are other things about it that I don't feel like getting into before I go to sleep zzzz

what about Forced Performances FP3052, this is the turbo i plan on puttin on my motor sometime around january or so. I jsut had my motor built with 9:! pistons so i should spool a bit better...much more was done with the motor just to lazy to write it all down...the car should be running within the week so i'll proably post a review with all that was done.

It was the internal gate that came with the turbo. It's much cheaper that way too. However, I might be investing in an external gate for my next car; seeing as how it'd be cheaper to go through turbos that way if I had to keep buying turbos.

And WTF is a 'stage 3 exhaust housing'...?! It would help if you told him which company's 'stage 3' it is. Staged upgrades are usually for the honda boys, so it bugs me when people call them by stages. One of my friends tried to order a clutch and said it was a stage 1 clutch, it made it confusing when he didn't know which company's stage 1 he was talking about.

what he means is a stage III turbine wheel not housing. thatd be the PTE .63 a/r and 76trim exh wheel, (actually slightly larger than stage III turbine wheel.)
