I lived in fear with driving a Honda, its easily stolen... Now im on a search for a fast AWD that i wont fear it being stolen... Dont want to invest my time and money into something and have it taken away from me by some jerk who doesnt get thier parts the right way, earning it from a job ( real job, not no chop shop etc)...

I already seen someone's 2g on this board a bit earlier and thought i should ask the question...

EDIT: If its easily stolen, how often does it happen???

these cars are really no different than others. you can take precautions such as alarms, kill switches, sensors etc...however if someone REALLY wants your car, they can get it.

yep

I know you can get into a Talon VARY easily. I had my baby broken into and entire system gone in minutes. Im sure if they can get into it that fast, than they can get away with it that fast. I would say get a kill switch and a really nice alarm. If your car wiggs when they get near it, they will go away. Your best defence would probebly be to live in a place where it will not get stolen, but only I would do that becuse it has happened to me.

stolen? im scared of my car getting stripped!(especially when i get more mods) i know of two guys that got their car stripped to the bone. i mean they took his bodykit, fmic, cut off his exhaust and everything sometime overnight. what are you supposed to do about that?

Best bet is if you are gonna put a lot of $$$ into a car and it shows then you really should have a garage or deal with the possibilities of theft or vandalism, the world just sucks sometimes.

My friend would never even think about leaving his Type R out over nite anywhere and we even live in a nice neighborhood.

Vans- Are u talking about this baby blue 2g??? I bumped into this guy with a baby blue 2g Eclipse at Top Speed last year and he said they ripped his bumper off just for the FMIC, not sure if they took anything else, but thats all i remember... The ironic thing is, he came from New York and he didnt have that much of a problem there he said...

Anyways, thanks for the advise guys... Im sure its not as often as Honda's getting stolen... Heck, Integra is rated #1 car stolen now...

any car isnt TOO hard to be stolen without precautions, and besides any car ur putting alot of money into if ur worried about it should have at least an alarm, kill switch what not. or get a bunch of those lock things, the wheel lock, brake pedal lock, etc :D

im just worried about people breaking into the car and jacking all the expensive electronics( gauges, afc, radio) They could grab all those little goodies and be gone in minutes....and those things can be sold quick for some killa $$$!!! Maby i just got a criminal mind......Thats why my car is hooked up to a 10,000 volt alarm system......you touch it and you get fried motha trucker!!! This is just another excuse to keep my car sleeper style...that way the criminals are not attracted to your car, but to the riced out honda next to ya!!!!

J TAM 128, no i wasnt acutally talking about a dsm. it happened to my friend's cousin's turboed probe last summer or spring. i think he was at college somewhere, came out of a class, saw broken glass everywhere and his stripped car. the other guy was a civic. he stayed over at a party i think, came out next morning and same thing as the probe. that also happened like a year ago but ill always be worried about it...

Yeah i had someone break into my car in front of my damn house, they stole all my cd's and my Pioneer tv... They knew where i hid my face plate too, it has to be someone i know... Never really figured out who did it... I had an alarm too, they broke my window cuz i didnt connect the door lock switch cuz i had it remotely powered to lock and unlock the doors... Owell there goes 2,000...

Zelite5: No man I was just kidding, but that would be great....if it could actually be done. Im not saying it would be impossible, but damn close!!!

It had to be someone who knew alot about you and/or the car!! Maby someone asked one of your close friends "what all does he got in that car??" And your friend started bragging about it... I seen people at the local hangouts do this kinda stuff...just BS'N with other's, trying to act cool!!! I dont tell many people what is actually inside the car....every now and then after/before a race I'll tell my oponent what I got "under the hood"....but never too descriptive...and never about all the electronics inside. Only people who are very close to me( best friend, dad, girlfriend) even ride in the car. OK, IM VERY PARANOID...
BTW, i've got my gauges(3) in the a-pillar and want to put them some where less noticable.....but not in the vents( it gets f'n cold sometimes around here and you need blastin heat)...got any ideas on where I could mount them, keeping the heating system fully functional?????

Damn, sorry to hear that... Those pictures are sad... So they took the whole car from ur drive way??? Some people have some balls to take it from ur driveway... Didnt u have any type of security on it???
Thanks for your sympothy - it was a nightmare.

The car was not taken from my driveway, infact it was never moved. They did this whole job while i was sleeping. Insane huh? The negative battery cable was disconnected to disconnect the alarm and they did very little damage to the car. They accidently scratched my door about 4-5inches and messed up the front bumper while trying to remove the FMIC.

Now I have motion sensors around the car and if anything crosses them a mild alram goes off in my room telling my to get the 12 gauge ready :)
