Any suggestions on what i should replace it with? I was thinking the buschar racing stage 3 block and stage 3 head with hks cams. Not really in a hurry since i just bought my truck so i wanna build i beast. I also cosidered getting a cyclone motor, but really not sure it would be worth it.

whatever you do, just make sure its a 6bolt.

edit: oh yea how did you blow it apart?
can i get a 6 bolt motor to bolt up to a 7 bolt tranny?

and for what i did i ran 26 psi on my ete32. there is a hole in the back of the block that you can stick your fist into and the rod came out of it and went into the starter. then there is a 3 inch by 2 inch hole in the front of the block. I think i would like to buy a block that is already pre assmebled that way i dont have to find a place to put it together. also i am looking at the magnus block 800+hp for 3000. just dont know what others thought of it or if anyone was running either one of these shortblocks.

Yup, same bolt pattern on the bellhousing. Look at the "1G in a 2G" swap info on Magnus' site to see what you need to buy and how to do it.

Any full-race assembled shortblock is going to run you about 3 grand, no matter where you get it. Sounds like you want to tear it up pretty good (26 psi and threw a rod :D ), so anything less than a fully built motor wouldn't cut it for you. I really can't say whose is best, so maybe others will post their experiences with their various race motors. Personally, I know of a local machine shop that would get dibs on building a shorblock for me. They have few clients in NASCAR, FWIW. ;)

I haven't sat down to plan out what I need for head work, but I've spent a lot of time on the block. Personally I'd stay away from a 2G piston setup for what you're planning on running. It's not worthwhile with the power you're hoping to run.
For my 1G I'm planning on polished eagle rods, ross pistons, clevite bearing all the way around, and having a local shop assemble it. The prebuilt blocks are great if you're in a hurry, and have the cash on hand, but if you shop around and have a local shop do the work, you can save a good bit of money. I've got a total under $1400 so far going this route though I'm considering a 2.3L setup instead which will jack it up around $2500.

Where you running race gas when it blew up? Where you nocking? What gear where you on? Just curious as to where the limit was.
I just ran my new 50 trim, with 15psi, rich, and a 75 shot. It trapped 114mph. Later that day I turned it all the way up to 23psi with a 75 shot, but didn't take it over 90mph, cause I thought it was going to blow up. At this point I was pushing my luck. It felt insanely violent :D .. All this on my stock 72k miles stock block.

He wasn't being a dick at all. He said it's a relief to hear of people blowing their motor up from making too much power, rather than blowing it up because of something stupid like running 2 quarts low on oil.

It was a compliment, albeit a twisted one. :)

not a dick head response at all. i'm sorry but you're the one who should be doing some research instead of asking to be spoon fed. read reviews of parts and if you like what you read then get it built.
Sorry I must have misread what you wrote. But at the same time I am doing research, but this is the first car that I am building to have this much power so I dont want to make a stupid mistake that will cost me a bunch of money.
