the trans shifts great, has a short throw, kinda tight tho, lots and lots of clutch left,
The trany is suppose to only have 1,400 miles on it!!
of course the turbo was suppose to be bran new to

I bought the car off e-bay, for $4,500
the seller was very unhonest about LOTS of things,

I drove over 4 hours to get it, and am now not so excited about it

but at that price I guess I can fix a few things

yeah whatever but did your come with all this free!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3 empy oil cans
easy access computer option, (kick panel thrown in back computer hanging by wires)

free mcdermic D-8 pool stick (hood prop)

free bag of cat litter (oil dry) :p

I was told that all receipts of work done on the car was in the glove box when I checked them out after I got home I found 4 receipts for towing on a flat bed. sadly enough this is the truth

and a mili-vannili cassett tape :D

bent valves and a discombobulated crank pulley.
So I picked up my 1g head I had sitting around.
And my 1mm o/s SS valves I also had sitting.
Got it cleaned decked ported valve job.
Tore the rest of the 2g shit off.
Left the block, pulled the b/s (had a removal kit sitting as well)
Put on a 14b (yep had that too...)
Threw the shit together for $500.
Maybe less. I still leak's oil, and my seat broke.
(See "I almost had a DSM" in the lounge)
I had my share of "fun" too.

You'll get it. Let me put it into perspective for you.
I probably had 100+ hours into fixing and painting and cleaning and double checking and D'oh-ing with this car. Cost me time not $.
My best friend has a civic that got flooded a bit. So he pulled the engine, new clutch, flywheel, junk yard Vtec engine. (from a non-vtec) He bought an ecu, a complete wiring harness. 3 intake manifolds... (he keeps getting the wrong stuff...) He bought two IACV (similar to ISC) and they're MORE expensive than isc's!!! For what? The vtec engine grants a jaw dropping, nut shattering, 20 more flywheel Hp. wooo... And guess what. It won't run. STILL. A month and a half later. I could change out my stock muffler and get 20hp. (At this point its gotta be CHOKING the poor DSM)
His engine was $700, ecu $100ish, manifolds $70+ each, IACV $90+ish, flywheel $180 clutch $150 wiring harness $100...
My whole friggin car car less than that!
And even when its together he won't stand a chance in hell.
Just remember when the DSM has you down.
It COULD be a Honda.
:p

Here's a possibility for the reason the car has no pull in the midrange....With the "cup of nails" sound in the low RPM's the computer is probably reading a huge amount of knock and retarding the ignition timing so far that the car makes half of the power that it's supposed to. Without a logger its impossible to know what exactly is going on but I'm sure thats where your power loss may be.

i FIXED IT!! I pulled the turbo last night figuring it was shot, but the problem was the wastgate flapper thingy was open about an 1/8th of inch
I adjusted the wasgate, and it is all jolly now. runs smooth at part throttle
and builds boost twice as fast. altho I did find 2 long cracks on the exhost side of the turbo, welded them up as best as I could.
the car runs twice as good as earlier, thanks for all the input guys :D

ding ding ding ding ding.... we have a winner.

the cup of nails is every turbo cars nightmare. you need to sort that problem out asap. what your hearing is detonation and this will destroy your engine if it continues.
