Looking for a cheap FMIC

I searched and from what everyone is saying the ebay ICs are decent. I need something cheap but bigger than the stock SMIC for my new turbo, bigT28-Killer. I am planning on running around 16-18 psi on it so obviously I am not going for some crazy performance output. So, I found this one here:
EBAY FMIC

If anyone is using this one or another one of the cheaper ebay ICs I would really appreciate it if you reply with your opinions and experiences. If you haven't had any experience with these and are one of those people who like dumping all your money into the fancy brand stuff please don't reply with an opinion because I already know what your opinion would be. My car is not my life so I don't want to spend as much on an IC as the montly payment is for my other car.

Also, if you have pictures of how these ICs look on a 1g that would be great to see.

If your going to go with an ebay type intercooler, SS Autochrome has a full 1g kit for 295. All you have to do is send an email to sales@ssautochrome.com and ask them if the 1g DSMTuners group buy is still going on, they will say yes and send you payment instructions.

I have one of the 24x9x3 inch bar and plate ebay intercoolers with 2.5 inch inlet/outlet. Never had a leak. Looks great. I paid $140 for mine but it looks like prices have gone up since then. I must say that the intercooler you have picked out looks like some serious cheap quality. Shop around and find something better than that. Between the intercooler and pipes you will probably need to spend around $300. Good luck.

I got the same thing. The one I got is 24*10*3. It has very nice welds, and end tanks. It's bar and plate just like spearco cores. Mine came with 3' inlet, and outlet. I got for $150 with shipping from ebay. It's not exactly a bolt on, and you have to make all your own piping. But it works great I ran 26psi many times on pump gas and I'm very impreassed. Leaked tested not long ago, and no leaks. I tested a friends a DTV fab intercooler on my car before this one, and this one cools just as well IMO. I can run the same amount of boost and get the same airflow numbers. It may be cheap but it does require a lot of DIY fabrication.

I don't know about that $50 intercooler though. I can't really see the kind of finds it has inside. It may be ok, but you're taking a chance. That's extrememly cheap.

Just make sure if you're ordering from Egay, cough Ebay, that the measurements are right, some times they wont even be close to the same and will cost you so modification, and even when you do send them the payment, add a little note reminding them of the year/make/model you're getting it for, best of luck.

I bought another one, guys. It is $160 but at least it will allow for the shortest route possible.

That's not going to get you short routing...thats one setup for "stock route" piping.

Watch out for the SBR cores, there have been some problems with them leaking..

of course this is prone to all cores, but some will say unacceptible because of the amount you pay for it, which i stand for as well; while on the ebay cores it is expected, though it is more of a min. amount of cases.. conspiracy!

always check for leaks
