Ok so here is the deal, I have a 92 Talon TSI FWD. For some time now, the car has been miss firing up top. Here is what i did so far to the car. I put a boost gauge in so i know what psi the car is running. Currently it styas put at 10psi. I put new copper plugs in, xtune ignition wires, and new coilpacks and a new transistor. After all of that the car is still missing. I know that i have some kind of a crankcase problem cause the dip stick used to come out under high RPM, and then i pinched the tube for it, now the oil is comming out from the top of the oil cap. I want to the get the Dejon krank vent kit, but i dont know how good that works. I am not even sure if the crank pressure has anything to do with the car misfiring uptop. So i guess my two questions are:

1) why is the car misfiring?
2) would the Dejon Krank vent kit help deal with an overpressurized Krank case.

Autozone carries NGKs. Gap them to.028
He shouldn't need .028...he's only running 10psi. Gap 'em to stock specs (.032, I think). But gota0have0boost is right...you should be able to get them from Autozone or Advance Auto or O'reilley or Napa. Heck, I've even seen them in the automotive department at the local farm/tractor supply type store :dunno: And definitely check for boost leaks.

ok i still need to get the spark plugs, but i still dont know why the car is misfiring. One of my friends was saying that it might be the sensor that is on the cam shaft. He is saying that the car may have jumped timing . Another one of my firneds is saying that the mass air sensor might be bad.

Do any of you guys have opinions of the MAF being faulty, or the car jumping timing, or the ECU might be bad all together?

I dont know if this helps, but the car also dies when i turn it on initially, then i have to start it one or two more times for it to stay on, but once it is on and at normal running temps, then the car is fine and does not die. I dont know if that helps but i thought that i would throw it in just in case.

Gap them to .028, no madder how much boost you are running. You can even go down to .020 just to see if it stops the misfire just for diagnostic. If it does stop then you have a weak spark.

Boost leak can cause misfires. Im having the same problem right now.

ok well i guess ill use this thread for all the problems that i have with the car. I did the regap and made the gap.028 and nothing changed. My next step to solving this problem is going to be a fuel pump rewire, walboro 255, and another set of injectors. Ill let you guys know how it goes.

what transistor did you change? I was having a very similar problem and now it does it on a very rare occasion. I tried a different coil pack, plugs and got some new wires. Then I adjusted my base fuel pressure to teh stock and it seems to be good now.
