My 1998 Gs-t rebuild and upgrade.

I'm new on dsmtalk, but I'll think I want to introduce my car and plans and engine rebuild.
After reading the sticky in the build diary, I'll try posting here. Any mod feel free to move my thread if it is in the wrong place.

Last night I got to disassemble my 4G63 engine block. It looks pretty messed up inside! Every bearing is toast! I'll post pictures later.

Anyway, I expected to find single main bearing caps and seperate thrustbearings, since this is a post'97 car.

What I found was a main cap girdle and a combined main bearing/thrust bearing. I guess this means I will have to get a new set of ACL Race bearings.

My crank is also destroyed on the bearing surfaces and I got a spun rod bearing closest to the timingbelt side.

My flywheel has a lot of cracks from the inside and out.

The good thing here is that I already got a new Eagle crank, Eagle rods, Wiseco HD1400 .20 over, act streetlite flywheel and act2600 clutch, so that save my butt here!

What could have caused such total carnage inside?

I had to get the pre-97 bearings.

This is a daily driver with 350hp goal.

Want it to last as long as possible.

Luckily I purchased wiseco 0.20" oversize pistons, so I'm still following my plan and timeline! ROFL
I got my second delivery from extremepsi with a torqueplate and ton of other stuff 2 weeks ago, and my hopes are that I late this week or early the other week can get my engine block and new rotating assembly plus a fluiddampr back from a machineshop 500km away from here for machining and balancing.

The week after that I plan to assemble everything and get it in the car! I just hope I don't run into some kind of trouble.

This is my first rebuild, so I hope people can give me some input on things if they discover anything I should do differently!

I am thinking at the state of my bearings.. What can cause that amount of bearing failure? Every bearing inside the engine is destroyed, plus the small TD05H turbo bearings? I've been boosting 15psi, no more.

Bad oil?

Plain abuse?

Both?

When I have a new Eagle crank and got Standard size bearings, clearance should be okay when I assemble it?

My Wiseco 1400HD pistons is 85,41mm size, Wiseco recommended bore size is 84,99mm(3.3661"), that is 0.08mm bigger than the piston. Is this enough for 350/400WHP? No NOS or stuff like that..

I have a new OEM oil pump and waterpump I'm gonna put in.

Do it right the first time.

My Eagle crank, rods, wiseco pistons, fluiddampr, streetlite flywheel and act2600 w/street disc are all getting weight-balanced by a shop at the moment.

I look forward to get it back and start the assembly!

Can it be oil-starving that make my cylinders look this way too?

*And, how much bigger should my bore be than the wiseco's if I want approx. 400WHP, no NOS or anything.

Wiseco recommend 0.09mm's oversize on the bore diameter in the paper that came with the set.
