Thanks, but that one is actually not a complex task. It's just 2holes! One in center and one through the bolt where the large inside diameter on the banjo is.. :)
I guess the banjo bolts don't come in 12.9 quality! :D

If you ask what I'm most "impressed" of by myself, it must have been the adapterplates to fit the Mitsubishi TPS and ISC to the Mustang TB! I think I actually used 4days or something on the job! :D

A little update on how things are working out @ the moment..

Because I made a mistake when ordering parts, I didn't get the cam's I intended to get.
My plan was to order the FP2X's, but somehow a pair of FP2's managed to get ordered.

The FP2X's was on my plan because of a better idle, and the fact that I've got SI nitrated valves and brian crower springs'n retainers, I got the valvetrain for it.

The FP2's give me a little choppy idle, just what I didn't want, but hopefully it's possible to adjust things a little.

A little adjustment on my TPS is needed, because it cut fuel at approx 4% throttle. It make the car a little hard to drive at low load and slow speed.

I have now done 4oilchanges and after the last one there was close to nothing of metallic particles inside the oilfilter. Good.
This was after 30miles on that oilchange. Now I'm running 150/500/1500/3000miles oilchanges, and on 3000miles I want to put in Brad Penn 20W50 synthetic oil.

With that said, the engine is running great! very responsive! I've been a couple of times @redline now after 100miles on it, and it feels like it want to continue further on, not slowing down the accelleration speed at all!

Hopefully it will provide me with alot fun later on!

I want to try to install Ecmlink this weekend, I'm quite exited about it!

Waaaaahh!

Just before I got home from work today, the car started the WORST SMOKE-SHOW I have ever seen from a car!

Thick white smoke was blocking any rear view!!:freakout:

And, the next moment the oil-light came on! :wtf:

I just cut the engine and rolled all the way home, luckily it was downhill from there.

Parked, jumped out, threw myself on the ground in front of the car, and oil was pouring out, in the proximity of the oilfilter.

The whole downpipe and the exhaust was covered in oil! That explain the huge amount of smoke.

My oilfilter was tight.

:dunno:

Had to get something to lift the car a little, for a better view.

I found that I probably had blown the oilpan gasket! about 1cm (0,5") was missing just behind the oilfilter.

That is not supposed to happen? There should be close to no pressure inside there?

With that said, gasket was wet around, even after re-tighting the bolts 2times.

I used black silicone on both sides of the gasket.

Did I do it wrong?? :dunno:

I really hope nothing got damaged due to low oil-levels! I think I was very quick. No bad noices.

Hi folks!

A little update:

I re-sealed the oilpan the other day with Blue RTV, replacing the Topline cork gasket that was leaking. RTV is the way to do it. DO NOT USE A GASKET ON YOUR OILPAN. :)

But, Inside of it I found a little amount of bearing shavings! Kind of supporting the bad feeling I've had the last couple of days.

When it was out in the open like this, it was easy to check crank-endplay.

I read it to be 0.55mm(0.0217", If we should believe the online converter), and is well out of spec.

The engine is built 2000miles ago, so I will have to do some more research on CW and reasons to it to happen, what to do about it, and what's possible to do about it with the engine still in the car.

One theory I have, is that my clutch master-slave is adjusted too much on, to gain the most possible clutch disengagement, resulting in a little pressure on the PP, and constant thrustbearing load?

I'll look into it when it get new bearings.

Hopefully I'm able to replace the bearings before I ruin my new, balanced Eagle crank.

John, just let you know, I am still reading your posts. Thanks for all updates. My build is going to start soon. I hope you can resolve the shaving issue. i believe it could be just normal. If I am you, I would do a compression test leak down test to ensure piston sealed is well done and air is tight.

have you done a compression test yet? any number to show for your new build engine? thanks.

Hi! :)

I have not gotten to do a co
Pression test on it, mostly because I don't have the tools for it at hand.

The shaving issue come from a failing thrustbearing due to a wrong adjusted clutch, keeping pressure on the PP and thrustbearing at all times.

I'm up to change main bearings within the next 3weeks or so. :)

Hope it have been good reading! ;)

U can get a supra one. I heard its pretty good and its might be cheaper then the name brand ones.

I have heard they are good as well. I've also heard that installing one of these is a pain! And, you can get the known "powerbump" because of the size of the Supra unit.. :)

To save time I've decided against the supra smic, and just get a simple bolt-on design SMIC, flowing the best that's out there. :)

Shock.
I am in shock, from the cost of it all, to the bad luck that you have been having. You are a stronger man than me.

I wish you luck.
:D

Yeah, I got a little more to do than I wanted to mess with, and the cost turned out higher then I ever expected.

All this would have costed WAY less if I lived in the states with you guys!

My current to-do list include a grinding 3rd gear(rebuild?), crazy inner wheelspin when autoX(Quaife?), and replace my crank bearings(got Clevite trimetal).

It's all about the ability to fund it all.. If anyone got a used jacks transmission fwd gearbox w/quaife, PM ME!!

Thanks for the good luck man! :)

Absolutely amazing build. If you don't mind, what do you do for a living? The fabrication and know-how is unbelievable. Keep us posted on power output.

Thanks.. It's my first ever..

I work as a metalworker at a workshop. CNC and manual.. Know how to make stuff, but have never tried my skillz on cars before.. :) Great fun, but took a lot of time and money!

Keep us posted on power output.
I'll see if I get it on a dyno some day.. :)

You have great skills when it comes to fabbing stuff up. I commend you on your efforts and it sucks to hear about the luck you've had. It'll get all situated with time. Just don't give up! I've read almost every page of this and you've replied to almost everyone's quetions. You have a great build diary that I'm sure will be read by many others.

But you guys! Stop it now! :D I get cocky here where I'm sitting!

Thanks for the nice words..
