WEll the other day she started stuttering but its only when i sitting there i bring the rpms up to 1500 it stutter a bit. So today i pulled out the spark plugs and changed them out. 2,3,4 and for looked like they where wet. So i checked the tightness of the valvle cover every screw inside and outside needed atleast 1 turn.
So i put in the new spark plug start her up. Shes feels better all together but at 1500 there is still a hesitation. At 1700 its gone.
Could this be my wires? I have magnacor 8.5 ive had for about 3 months or so. Anysuggestions?

I had the same problem. My engine would sputter between 1600 rpm and about 3000 rpm. I took it to my dealer and they replaced the plugs and wires w/ NKG'sfor about $60. They said that eclipse engines run hot and most plugs and wires olny last about 15-20k.

I just went and took it for a spin.
I clicked it over to high boost and floored well as soon as i hit 14 psi. she missed. I thought it was going to backfire. Whats up with that.

It still sounds like an ignition problem.

So what do i need a whole new ignition. How are the msd-2.
I also just changed my plugs to a new set and it was still there.
Anyother suggestions before i go buy one of these?

I am having the exact same problem.

I just changed my plugs and wires. I am using Magnecors and NGK BPR-6ES gapped to .03. It does not hesitate when accelerating hard. It is more like when I am cruising at 50 mph and lightly get on it; it sputters.

Possible problems I found from searching:
1. I know some people have had problems with the magnecor wires?
2. Fuel filter - but the car only has 42k miles?
3. bad coil pack?
4. I did a fuel pump rewire a while back; maybe I am running too rich or would the FPR not let it run rich?

Well i put the old stock wires back in a she runns fine now.
That is the 2nd pair of magnacor wires i dont think im going to buy them again.

Yea, I wish I did not throw away my old wires.

But anyway; Has anybody ever checked their Magnecors with a volt meter?
What ohms should I be looking for for each wire?

Hopefully I can do this instead of buying a new pair of wires just to check them.

Thanks in advance
