I will take NGKs over FAGnecores anyday. I had two sets of FAGnecore wires fail on my car and some friends had the same experience. Switched to NGKs and never had a problem. 8mm vs. 7mm doesn't make a difference either.

 

I agree with the above. I have tried two sets of Magnecores and had problems within a year. I am now on a set of NGKs that is almost 4 years old. I am sure my car puts a demand on the ignition system as well.

 

NGKs just based on my personal experience.. through 2 diff. DSMs..

 

I would take the NGKs.

Ok I know that Magnecor has the best rep for spark plug wires. But my question is how do NGK hold up? I mean they have the best spark plugs for our cars why not spark plug wire's. Or are they?

I used to have a set of MagneWhores on my GSX that crapped out. I replaced them with the NGK's and have not had a problem since.

 

For sparkplugwires I can vouch for Accel ad NGK. I have Accel's on the 2g(over 2 yrs.) and NGK's on the 1g(1plus yrs.). No problems whatsoever on either.

 

NGKs are great. They will do their job flawlessly.

MSD makes a good plug wire for SBCs. I haven't heard anyone talk about them on DSMs though.

Accel wires here - same set for the past 4 years. No problems. I have another set on my other Talon that have been on it for even longer. No issues.

Thinking about it...that's the only set of wires that has been on any car I have called my own. I have yet to replace or warranty a set.

 

I have Magnecor wires and have not had any issue with them either.

 

I have a set of crapnacores you can buy for $2. Just so you know, 2 of them were arcing at the coil. I would never buy them again. They were great while they lasted I guess. Get a COP ignition system and never worry about plugwires again.

Magnecors sucked, lasted less than 1 year.

NGK's, one set each for two daily driven turbo awd dsms for 3+ years. Still going strong and they've seen 30 psi of boost.

I'd never recommend or buy magnecor wires.

 

I had a set of magnecores on my laser and no. 4 kept poping off the coilpack, I bought NGK's and no problems at all and if there is I know NGK's have a lifetime warranty, I'm not sure about Magnecores.

 

Magnecore doesn't know what the word "warranty" means. They don't stand behind shit which is why they send you a disclaimer with the wires.

 

no one said it yet, but a lot of us know that NGK also makes the stock OEM wires that come on our cars - at least my 2g GS-T

 

No problems with my NGKs either.

 

What size Magnacore wires did everyone buy that keeps crapping out? I just bought a set of 10mm wires and I can't see them ever going bad.

My Magnecores were cracked a bit and at night I could see a faint arc once in a while. I called them and they sent me a new set after I sent mine back so they could determine if I did something to the rubber to make it do so. Of course this was back in the day maybe 5 years ago. I was very happy with them.. especially after spending so much on the wires!

Although many use the NGK wires which are only $30

8.5mm is the standard size. It doesn't matter what size they are as far as having problems, it's in the design.

You are one of the few lucky ones who actually got warranty replacements from them, gauranteed.

 

I am now using MSD wires. I'm coming from magnecor wires that I've been using through 2 DSMs. Prob 30k+ miles. After all the recent negative opinions on magnecors I thought i'd change up a bit. I don't feel any difference, but I do like the fitment of the MSD wires a lot more than the magnecores. They feel more secure.
