everytime i clean the oil up then go out and push the car i get oil all in the valve cover well where the spark plugs are and also on the hood... where could this be coming from? i did notice on the valve cover that theres a very small hole that goes all the way through to where the spark plugs are on the front ride corner of the valve cover... im thinking thats where the oil is coming from??? cause it doesnt leak at idle or anything.... just when i push the car.... can anyone help me please???? i have pics if you need to see the hole im talking about....

thanks,

kevin

Those pinholes are supposed to be there. Do you have a plastic cover over your wires? I will guess that the gaskets around the sparkplug holes between the head and the valve cover are shot and oil is getting in from there. It's hard to see cracks in the valve cover that are hairline.

was looking over the valve cover for cracks and i did notice a small little crack where the pcv valve is.... im thinking i tightened it too much... i used some jb weld on that small area.... everywhere else looks fine on the valve cover and the valve cover gasket should be good too wasnt replaced too long ago....i did check all the valve cover bolts and i noticed they were kind of lose so i tightened all of them alittle bit and i also put another gasket on the oil cap so i have 2 on there now which im told helps.... so basically the valve cover is tightened, the small crack is sealed, the valve cover gasket is good, and the oil cap should be all set... im gonna take it out tomorrow night and see what happens... if it still leaks then im gonna replace the valve cover and valve cover gasket set....

If it is around the plugs I'm 99% sure it is the oil cap gasket.
I'm with Crossbreed it is from your oil cap i'd put money on that one. go and get a new one at autozone for like $10.00 and you will not leak any more oil

It's better to do what he did. Putting two seals on it, causes a tighter fit for the cap.
But I too am pretty sure that it's the Oil Cap that was leaking.

i think it might be the oil overspill hole because the oil cap is new, the valve cover is tight, the gasket is good..... everytime i check the oil its not low at all..... its actually over the 2nd mark on the dipstick....so im thinking theres too much oil and thats why its spilling out of the over spill hole....

Hahaha, it's the cap man. Common problem. You won't see the oil by the cap cause there aint much of a lip there. If it was your valve cover gasket, your plugs would be soaked.
I agree with you, totally.

i put the plastic cover with the 5 bolts over the spark plug well and drove the car today... when i opened the hood it looked perfect it wasnt sprayed on the hood underneather or the spark plug wires like it usually is..... im lead to believe its leaking under that plastic cover some where..... my only guess is that small pin size hole that goes straight through.... i believe this because right where the hole is there like a oil spray mist right on the spark plug wires.... i think its that hole.... theres no where else under it could be coming from.....

If you have signs of oil spray it may be something besides the oil cap. If it's on the hood, you may want to check your turbos oil feed line, and possibly the dipstick.

I just wanted to let you know that I too thought this, never found where the oil came from. Bought a new cap from mitsu, by their suggestion, and hey, watta ya know? No more oil. BTW, if the oil cap is leaking, it will leak right under that plastic cover and you will never see it till you take it off. But really, for 15 bucks, it's worth it just to rule it out. Most of them are old and need to be replaced anyways.

new oil cap, valve cover gasket, new dip stick.... so im confused now.... its coming from under the plactic cover over the spark plugs.... cause when the cover is on theres no oil spray on the hood or anywhere else.... when the cover is off the oil sprays on the hood.... so i dunno... any other suggestions besides the valve cover itself.... btw its an autozone oil cap....

your valve cover is craked buy a new one. :)
Listen to this man....or woman. :p You have a small crack somewhere in that well. They are very hard to see. Don't buy a new one though. Take the valve cover off, and in a dark garage, shine a flash light through the valve cover and I bet you will see the crack. JB Weld the fissure, let it sit overnight and you will be back in business before you know it.
