Overheating... Headgasket, or not?

I checked my oil today and it looked like there was air bubbles in with the oil. I have replaced my Tstat, temp sendor unit, and both radiator hoses. The car didnt overheat for a while after that was done. Then today I was driving down the street at 30mph and happened to look at my temp gauge and it showed my temp 3/4 the way hot. I pulled over and about that time I saw some white smoke coming from the hood. I looked under the hood and there was a little bit of coolant that looked like it leaked from the passenger side of the block somewhere, but I couldnt find where. I went ahead and cleaned all the coolant out of the engine bay and I started the car up and there isnt any more coolant coming out. However, I think once I drive it for a while it will again have the same problem. I think its leaking from the headgasket but I just wanted some confirmation before I ripped apart the head.

you can take the radiator to a radiator shop and they will clean the cores and check the compression for like 10---40 bucks depending

if its a blown head-gasket, you can change the oil..... see if its got coolant... OR... take off the radiator cap and fill it all the way up w/ coolant... remove the hose to the overflow-tank and hold your finger over the hole while a friend turns it over.... if it has a blown headgasket then the coolant will shoot straight up from the radiator so stand back (remember the cap must be off for it to shoot up and your finger must be on the nipple for the overflow line)

good luck

If the head gasket is bad, usually all the coolant ends up in the bottle or, overflowing the bottle, on the ground.

Ok, here is what I have done.

Replaced the thermostat with a 180.
Replaced both radiator hoses.
Replaced the sensor that threads into the coolant housing for the gauge in the car.

Today I started the car up and let it get to 1/2 way where it normally is and I pulled off the radiator cap. The couldnt see any coolant flowing. I added some more coolant to see if maybe i was low or something, but I wasnt. I felt both the lower and upper radiator hoses and they felt cold to the touch, like coolant wasnt flowing through them at all.

Should I take the thermostat out of the coolant housing all together and see if it flows coolant then? This wouldnt be a permenant fix, it would be a temporary test to see if the new thermostat just isnt working.

I did go ahead and test for a bad head gasket like InEclipse suggested and it doesnt look like I have a bad head gasket. So, I am leaning towards a bad thermostat or a bad radiator?

Ok, I figured out the problem, I was adding some coolant tonight after removing my thermostat and there was a small gash in the rubber hose that goes to one of the coolant lines on my turbo. It was small enough to loose coolant. I am going to replace that part tomorrow and get the car back on the road.
