For those familiar with my first build, you definitely know I loathe body kits but definitely respect custom workman ship. My previous design was a representation of what would happen if an aggressive 1g front end had the smooth lines and curves of a 2G:

So naturally the Phoenix would have to be something you haven't seen before as well.. The typical forward facing turbos require special ducting to make them work, this one was no different. Unlike guys who have 1Ga T/E/Ls the 1Gb guys don't have the option of using the front opening, and in all reality the opening in the miniature grille really isn't enough.

The solution came from a 5year old design Sean and the boys had siting around at the shop:

Badass.. :D

The next issue you run into running a forward facing turbo is the radiator location. At its upright position there is no way to run a full size radiator or anything close with a forward facing turbo so the solution was to tilt it forward and out of the way. That required the removal of the entire radiator support and some customizing of the lower supports to allow the radiator to slide into its "locking" position and be pinned in. *more pics of that later when I can get some better lighting*

Lower support:

But I'm sure everyones thinking, "How the hell do you fit the huge intercooler a big setup like this would require up front if your radiator is angled towards the opening?"

Simple.. Remember the "ice box" in the passenger area built into the cage?:

Yep, A/W. :evillaugh:

I went ahead and checked out the rule book and noticed:

According to this information my car can be as light as 2100lbs? :dunno:
Incorrect, look under AWD. The weight break down that I posted is for AWD cars, your car is AWD. I've talked to frank about this already. A FWD 4g63 can be 2100lbs, but not AWD.

A few people have been messaging me about the cage and how it extends into the engine bay:

This is where it starts off in the interior:

This where it comes through the firewall:

And here is its final resting place:

This is the passenger side:

Notice the custom "boxed" in area , it serves a purpose that you'll be bale to see when I show the mock up.

Here's the 1gal fuel cell located up front on the passenger side with the required "cage" around it:

The firewall sitting ready to go:

Weldon fuel pump and AFPR setup.

The SS lines will be replaced with the new Pro-Classic black lines I have, and when its said and done the entire engine bay will be gloss black with the gold cage. :)

Oh ok, so where do we find the weight classifications for AWD cars or is it just not posted on there?

Is the engine bay painted silver or in a sand blasted state currently?
No its actually silver. The next step is going to be finish shaving the engine bay then spraying it black like it should be and then spraying the cage portion in the engine bay. After that the parts can go back in there...:)
