OK don't flame me for this post but I was wonderring if it would be possible to dip into 10s on a 50trim(to4e) turbo with 272/272 hks plus all the supporting mods. the reaseon i'm asking is that there is a bunch of v-8 guys that want to race me this summer and a lot of them have tons of power..tell me what you think. thanks
there is the link to my page and all my mods..

No way.

By supporting mods, I hope you mean forged internals with c16. A fifty trim with supporting mods and pump gas isn't going to take you farther than the high 11's at best. With a intake manifold, nice headwork, and a nice tranny, along with all supporting mods and really good tuning with high boost and race gas, you MIGHT be able to hit 10's.

If I had to bet, you could maybe run an 11.3 at best. Just a guess on my behalf.

Throw some spray on there and a nice sheet metal intake...
You have everything else there guy..NICE CAR!!:D

your answer is yes, but...

I know someone who ran an 11.2 on a stock bottom end and stock head aside for some web cams. he did this with a frank 5 with supporting mods.

So I say yes a 10 sec time slip is possible with the right tuning done with the right driver behind the wheel.

Well the highest I had this turbo was 25-26 psi for few seconds(max on profecB) but on the track and street I use 21-22psi. with some race gas more practice and 28psi maybe it will happen..:D would be nice

Not to be a downer but don't get your hopes up. 10s is a very tough goal to set and not all that many guys have done it. And the guys that have have alot more of a hardcore setup than a 50 trim, HKS cams, and the supporting mods. Set your goals on 12's before you do so on 10s.

like its been said, its possible, but highly unlikely. You'd have to lose a whole lot of weight in addition to getting a near perfect tune with as much boost as the 50 trim will put out. Work on 12's, then 11's. The faster you go the harder it is to knock time off your e.t.

An 11 second street car is pretty damn fast, faster than most.

Possible...yes. Likely....no.
That's the way I look at it too. There's just a few people running 10's even with much bigger turbos these days - after 14 years of DSM existence. Sure, we have better turbos, better technology, more experience and the DSM crowd's becoming faster and faster every single year, but breaking the 10-second barrier still remains just for guys that can afford to trash the tranny or transfer case, break axles and blow head gaskets every couple of runs. The 50-trim is a capable performer, but taking it into 10's without nitrous would be as rare as running 10's with 20G or 11's with 16G or 14B. I believe it "can" be done (on C16), but would take an extremely light car, some serious tuning and a REALLY good driver. :)

Never say never. I'm shooting for 10's this spring on my FP Green, stock 2.0L block. Keep in mind, I'm AWD, not fwd like the s/n says. Last summer, I went 11.50@119 on 93 octane, in 91 deg. heat. With race gas and only ONE pass (blew the HG on that pass as well), I went 99 in the 1/8th (up from 96 with pump gas). I need another 2-3mph in the 1/8 to have a legit shot. A 10 sec. pass is VERY close. I do agree that a built motor with higher compression would help me out a lot. But I'm TRULY expecting to see 11.1x's out of this car, on a stock 158k mile shortblock. I honestly don't think I'll get into the 10's, but if I do, it will be my greatest accomplishment, since the only other person to get into the 10's on a Green is Curt Brown.

Wow..11.2 at 125..didn't see cams and no standalone..very impressive. And that other car did like a 12.1 on a 14b but didn't mention any other mods like fmic or anything. How the heck can anybody do that with a 14b.?? Makes me wonder if wasted my time buying a 50 trim..:(

The guy that bought my 1G off me ran high 10's with a fully built motor and a 57 trim PTE. He was tuned my AMS. Not sure if he was running race gas or not and I don't remember what the MPH was, somewhere in the 120's I think. I think it is possible.
