Quick questions on 2G MAF in a 1G...

Well, I am in the middle of slowly turning my 1G into the beast it should be. I got my hands on a 609 2G MAF off a Galant and I am trying to figure out how to pipe it and what filter setup to use. What I need to know is could I just buy a hard intake pipe for a 2G and will it fit? Also, what about the filter setup? Could I do the same thing and just buy 2G parts such as a adapter for a round filter and a big K&N? Will it get in the way of the SMIC piping? Should I just get a FMIC? :D Anyone who has been there and done this, please help! Thanks!!

So why cant you just run a 2G pipe? BOV Recirc location? Thats the only port on the tube besides the valve cover vent that I use and I may just get a catch can. Basically I will just need the BOV Recirc and will block the rest... Or will it not work because of the SMIC piping? If thats the case I may just skip right to an FMIC and then could I use the standard 2G pipe? Really cant see dishing out $200 for an intake hard pipe... Thanks for the help so far!

I am planning on running an SAFC II with my AMS 680's which are said to flow more like 650's I believe... I heard the 550's would make it run decent but I went ahead with 680's since I dont want to max my injectors out when I get my E316G. So I guess the way I look at it is, I have 680's that flow like 650's. 550's will about level out installing a 2G MAF, or so we have heard. That is a 100cc increase for the 2G Maf. 650-100 for the maf=550, So is it going to be like running 550-580's on a 1G MAF?

2g pipe with maf and filter is too long and won't fit your 1g...

Hmmm, I see. I am guessing by the time I would fabricate something like this it would be a better choice just to buy one seeing as you probably cant just shorten the 2G pipe. I think the turbo side would open too big then... I would like to know if you could use it as a blow through as well. I dont think so though, I have never seen it done. BTW I love your sig. HAHAHA

I got a 2g hard intake pipe on mine and I got a filter off ebay and its a bitch to cram it in there but its there

Question IS. DO YOU HAVE ABS? I don't nor CC unit so my shit ain't in the way of the IC piping at all

And when you do get a FMIC, you will have more room to play with IC piping and deciding on what to do

So essentially I could just swap my 1g mas to a 2g mas with my 550cc injectors in there and it would run until I could get a eprom ecu, or even a SAFC.. I found out the hard way I didnt have an eprom ecu. Swapped turbos 16g and rc 550's ordered a prom, pulled the ecu and guess what the previous owner had it rebuilt and got a auto awd ecu sent back to him with no prom. granted he wouldnt know the difference now I am suffering from it.. So my question is till I could afford to turn it properly would swaping the mas give me drivibility back in my car as right now she is a parking lot slut

Not....true.... Sorry Frank:p

If you work hard enough, it'll cram in there. A little ghetto I guess, but it does the trick.

EDIT: 'i need a dsm' got it to fit in his Talon a while back. It was the same day he took a picture of our cars in our avatars. :)
