I have a 2g Eclipse and want to look at the serial number for my CD player, to get my code. Can anyone describe to me an easy way to remove the molding around the CD player to get to the CD player. Just don't want to crack it, where should I start?

I just pinch the surround at the top and pull it until it pops free. The bottom has retainers that slide inside the console so pull from the top.
It's really easy. Just pull on it. Do do it hard enough to break it but it will come out. Pull from the top part. You will also probably have to take the center consoul out which has two screws where you pull the radio/havc off, two under the cup holder and two screws on the side of the center console behind the front seats.
