I'm suprised i found nothing while searching.. Anyways, do you have to remove the dash to remove a 1g engine harness? I'd like to remove it and re-wire it. Mostly to fix some plugs but also to extend the harness so i can mount the ecu/transistor/injector pack inside the car in the rear. Thanks!

No. You will have to remove your glove box, the metal brace that goes under it. Then the a/c exchanger box, and blower motor. Those are held in by 12mm bolts on top (I believe 2 on each top, 2 nuts on the bottom) Then there are some plastic clips that kinda hold those items together. They are the ones that you push the center in and remove. Once that stuff is out, pull the sound deading blanked up. Theres 2 phillips screws that hold the harness to the floor. The harness where it goes through the firewall has a plastic retainer with 4 clips. It can be a pain to get out.

How do you get the A/C box out without taking the dash off? I've always had trouble getting it out.

A 1g hvac system is made up of 3 pieces. Taking the glove box out and the metal bar that is kinda under it once out, you should be able to remove the a/c exchanger (obviously if you have a/c hooked up it will need to be evacuated and disconnected) If you get the bolts out and have a problem, there are 3-4 plastic retainer clips that keep it held into the heater box and blower.

^^^Everything Rook said, and you'll have to peel back the sound deadener from the RF footwell. the bulkhead pass-through is easiest to un-clip from the inside of the car (use a flat tool to depress the tabs), then pull the harness out from the engine compartment side of the firewall.
