i know im a little late on this thread but heres my view on it. i just got rid of all my wiring behind the dash and under the engine bay(fuse boxes) and i bought a 20 fuse holder from painless wiring and also a switch box from them. when i started doing this i was like you and taught hey ill just cut out what i dont need and leave the old harnesses, well i was wrong on that one the wiring harness was so fustrating because of all the wires going back and forth and left and right that i just bought a manual from ecanfax.com and wired my own schematic off that, i took out all the ac components, cruise control, power seat belts, stereo, and most of the turn signal stuff. anyways the only harness i didnt touch was the ecu harnesses, and now my engine is much cleaner cause i only have one fuse box which is located behind the ecu in the car. if your good in doing schematics then this should be easy for you, if not i wouldnt try it, but either way i really recommond getting either the fsm or the cd from ecanfax.com this will help out alot.
do you happen to have any engine pics and also the fuse box under the dash? I would love to see this.

o for people that say why i went this way, well i talked to the guys with project goodwill and got my inspiration from them. my mods are simple and yet im in the low 13's, and this is my daily driver.

couple of questions? I've done almost all of the above mentioned besides the things that I'm asking questions about. How did you go about removing the door supports? bucause its a pretty tight fit in there and I would be worried about cutting the actual door skin. did you just get a dremel in there and cut it up to little sections? and the lexan, where did you get it and how difficult was it to shape to the window along with taking out the old window and putting in the lexan. did you use riviets and silicone? thanks in advance.

the door supports are simple first go from the inside of the car and cut out all the beams to get to the windows. then unbolt the windows and i just used a4 1/2" angle grinder with a cut off tool. now i did have some heat marks on the outside when i was grinding but i just primered over that, you could avoid it buy just going slow. also the lexan was made using 1/8" sheets and my friend molded it for me at his shop, what he basically did was take out my old glass put the flat lexan piece on top and heat up the lexan and bend it with his hands, then when he got it to shape he viced it to the other window and let it sit for a day, then just trimmed the edges and we used window adhesive to put it back on.

off topic but have removed the heavy bumper supports? and what about a carbon fiber hood?
yup bumper supports are gone and since i cut out all the hood reinforcement the hood is pretty much just a piece of 16 gauge sheetmetal which is still pretty light

o ya also forgot all my hood latch items are gone and replaced with hood pins
