Seimens-Deka injectors (mustang injectors); will it work?

i looked around, and didnt really find anything relavent about putting Deka (ford) injectors in the DSM's.

ive been trying to find some compatible stock-style injectors that will drop into the DSMs w/o major mod's.

i found out that RX7 injectors came in sizes as small as 460s all the way up to 720s, and had impedences in the 2-3 ohm range as well as the 12-13ohm range.

now im also trying to find out what other injectors will fit besides the RX7 injectors. i found some 66 lb/hr injectors that came from a turbo mustang, they look similar in appearance to the typical ND injectors, but i dont know the impedance (doesnt matter, i can make high or low impedance injectors work) and i dont know if they will physically fit into the DSM's. not to mention, i dont know if they are Pintle or ball and disc. (the look like pintles, but im not sure).

will these Mustang Deka injectors go into DSM's? on a side note: will GM injectors fit into DSM's?

does anyone know this, or am i going to have to do some trial and error and find out the hardway?

thanks
chris

We'll I know that they are compatible for Dodge or Plymouth Neons. The impedence levels on the mustang injectors are low as well as the 420A engines for the Neons. Im not sure if its the same on the dsm's Turbo or Non-Turbo. If it has the same connectors and same impedence level then they should work, i think?? The only reason i say it would work with the neons is because I had one and I used the 36lb'ers and the Non-Turbo 2G's seem to be similar to the neons engine. Hope some of this info can help.

The electrical connector will fit, overall the dimensions should work just fine. I've got some spare injectors from each (DSM & Mustang) laying around, I'll try to repost tommorrow..

They will not work. The reason why they work in Neons and 420a powered 95-99 2GNTs is because they are high impedence, saturated, bosch type injectors. These are used on most american made engines such as chrysler, ford, etc.

Mitsubishi (4g63) uses low impedence, peak & hold type, lucas style injectors. These are used on most japanese engines.

it should work.
Since n/t guys put the pack in to get lower imp for the turbo inj, id guess taking it out would be good for higher imp injectors.

Shiv: since that smoking crack remark is pretty childish, im going to go ahead and assume that you are NOT Shiv Pathak, who is a member of the Turbo Impreza/WRX, RX7 community and a contrubutive writer to Sport Compact Car magazine.

and you CAN use High impedence injectors in the turbo DSM's. Im going to do this tuesday, along w/ my 2g mas. the premise about the resitor pack mods is correct.

In order to run High Impedence injectors in a car w/ Low impedence injectors stock, you must remove the resistor pack and connect each of the 4 wires (1 wire per injector) and connect them to a Chassis ground.

The only thing that one should be concerned about, would be the physical properties of non-stock injectors.

For instance: I am using 4 injectors from J-spec Mazda RX7 TurboII motors. they are 13-14 ohms impedence. but they are the same design as the OEM DSM injectors. They are Top feed and have electrical connectors on the side. They are basically the same dimensions where the fuel rail mounts and where the tips of the injectors meet the intake. Sometimes injectors might a longer tip than original injectors, in which case, you may have to add a rubber insulator and put extra washers onto extra long bolts to mount the DSM fuel rail correctly.

However, would have liked to use 3rd gen RX7 injectors, they are pretty big, except they are side-feed, and have electrical connectors on top.

so you have to worry about little things like that.

Put that in your crack pipe and smoke it Shiv.

Hey Chris, that's the type of reply I was looking for when I was asking the initial question. It will definitely help me out in the search.

Thanks,
Much Appreciated,

Shiv

It still stands that your first reply had not only made no relevance to the topic, but also made no sense in context. Using these reasons to refer to the statement as being cracked out ( not being one of sensible use ) is validated (more than a stranger saying that my given name refers to an inmate's weapon). Therefore, you should clearly rethink your comment on who's childish. I do not see any reason for you to have posted it to me. Even if you meant it in all good joking manner, you should remember that I don't know you, so it can be taken the wrong way, and you don't know me so, as an adult you should use a responsible mind and figure out that such a comment is uncalled for, and irrelevant in this discussion ( ie. Cracked out. )

Shiv, as an adult you need to learn how to control your name calling and learn how to take things w/ a grain of salt. If you even remotely took any type of offense to such an obviously joking comment, then you are way too uptight.

This is a place to get help and meet new people. I reserve the right to ask someone as to the origin of the screen name or anything else that i feel curious about, so i will ask any question i please.

I feel that my question regarding your name made PERFECT sense. i dont know how much more simpler it could have been. Shiv pathak is a member on the i-club forum as am I. and Shiv is not a commonly used word, let alone Name. And as far as i can tell, Shiv can only be 3 things. 1: Shiv's name, 2: A sharpened eating utencil that prison inmates use to subdue eachother, 3: some sort of acronym which NO one would be able to figure out unless they have first hand knowlege or are personal friends w/ you.

I think its quite obvious why i would have posted that question directed towards you. Your name IS "shivtsi". How much more obvious do i have to be?

There is nothing wrong w/ my comment unless you are so uptight that you lack any semblance of a sense of humor.

So, with that said, Calm down, grab a beer, be happy and stop being so stuck up.

Thanks
Chris

I can see this as just being another of the famed chain replies on a board. However, you said that there are 3 options of why my nick would start would shiv. I think you left out a key option : 4) It may be my name. You are right that this board is to get help seeing that it is a DSM forum. As you may have noticed, my replies and questions on this board are as such. On the other hand, without you giving an initial response to help with my questions, you had to introduce yourself as a person who takes jokes to a persons name ( - since your idea of " 3 options " seems to not work very well leaving out the key option ) . As I have stated earlier, you made fun of a person's name without knowing who they are, seeing that you didn't figure it was my real name ( refer to adult responsibility in my last response ) In the real world it's considered poor taste to make fun of a person's name as an introduction ( gives quite bad first impressions don't you think ) If I started making fun of an attribute of you in a first meeting you may not be too eager to consider me a friend now would you? Just because this is the internet, it does not mean that you can act any less than you would in person. There's always responsibility. As my friends know and people who have seen my other responses on my short time on this board, it would be noticed that I am an easy going guy, and I don't take other's comments to heart, however I have pointed out your childish approach. Again, I had asked a question that is DSM related in the appopriate area, and you, a person that I don't consider a friend, merely a stranger to me, has, instead of helping me with a question I had, made a joke of my name. I think that your intention was quite clear, after the Pathak question with the inmate weapon joke since a couple replies later someone had interpreted as I did : a joke. The fact of the matter, if you actually knew as some here do, that I'm not a tight ass, but childish irresponsible remarks that are not in context with the subject like your's gives a bad reputation to boards that are trying to be helpful to those that want it, such as I. I believe that such forums can build up great friendships but making fun of a person's name doesn't seem the best start. This is all I'll be posting about this "argument" since my question at hand has been so sidetracked, and any further argument is a waste of time for me. If you want to get into this type of discussion, I'm pretty sure there's the designated area available on this forum,

Later,
Shiv

Shiv, i wonder, how do you feel about all of this?

I mean i did offend you by making an off-kilter joke about your name rather than responding to your question, yet it seems as if i answered it quite conclusivly... I my self am kind of confused, maybe its cuz its late. but irregardless, im glad to have contributed some information.

Im just curious if i have givin this board a bad reputation for offending you, or helping it fulfill your expectations of it being a decent place to find answers to your questions...

Anyways, Id just like to take this opportunity to appologize for offending you, and if there is anything i can help you with in the future ill be more than happy to contribute what i know.

Cheers Mate
