Sparco seat base question and OMP seat info

I wanted to post this race seat info and also ask a question...

First the question:

Sparco universal seat base and Sparco seat tracks, are these any good? Has anybody here used them or experienced them? Do they fit right? In a 1G?! Do they work well?

Now the info on race seats I discovered today.

I visited AutoSport Werks today. They're local to me. Sweet shop that is! I sat in all of the available race seats they had on the floor. I'm getting an "OMP" seat, specifically the "Extra" model. (The Sparco seat brackets and stuff do fit this seat.)

I'll tell you why. I'm 6' tall, I weigh 190 lbs, and have a 33" waist. The OMP "Extra" seat model fits me very well and would for guys with similar proportions to mine. No other seat there fit quite right. There was just a little bit of extra room in the seat at the bottom, it was still snug but just right for a daily driver. The lateral supports seem snug enough for the twisties and yet seemed decent for adjusting your cd player in your daily driven dsm.

It has holes for a 5 pt harness, bottom mounts and weighs less than 20 lbs. The seat is available in black or red.
The black seats look good with the Sparco 3" 5pt camlock harness in blue that I got there today as well.

So what about the Sparco universal seat base, Sparco part number 00491, and the Sparco seat track set part number 00493? Any help there?

Thanks in advance.

Wow, thanks for doing the leg work for me Van. Hell, I don't even have to test out the 'Extras' at this point being that I am 6'1", 190lbs, and I have a 33" waist as well. :)

I have 0 experience with seats (for now) but I am betting that TNOMUD will be able to help you out.

LOL, you're welcome buddy! You will be impressed with the OMP seat. $489 or so for the seat, but it actually feels like a seat! Daily driver.
I wouldn't even call some of the Sparco seats that I sat in a seat.

TNOMUD, are you out there?! :)

I have the OMP's and love them. They are very comfortable. I have them on the OMP rails too. I am 6'3", have a 36 inch inseam, and am 200 lbs of Mr.Hero eating mean-ness. My only probelm is that my roll cage limits how far back I can put the seat. They are perfect for racing (closer to the wheel), but just a ahir too close for daily driving, but again, that is due to my cage.

I had SParcos in my Nissan Racecar/street car and loved them. They held up great for 35K miles of use on the track and daily driving. I had no probelms with comfort, I was satisfied with them.

I would also look at the Konig V-Racing seats, they are very nice and comfortable. I think SUmmit Racing sells them now.

I put Sparco Evo's in my 2g last year and had an awful experience with the bases and sliders not fitting correctly. I verified twice with them that they were the correct part but they weren't even close. I ended up having to weld on extra strut to there's to make stuff fit. Also, I wouldn't use the slider if I was doing it again. There is alot of play in the assembly verticly(you can wiggle the seat and it dances in the track). I didn't put a slider on the passenger side and it just feels more solid. If you aren't experienced with a welder, I'd pay someone to do them for you.
