Traded my 96 Civic 4dr b16, straight up for this Big 16g powered 96 GS-T. Had lots of little BS things that needed repair, but pulls hard and runs strong!!! Very straight body, no dents, but ugly as all hell when i got it. Will look great in about 3 days from now!!! I read that theres not too many fans of the 2g flat black look, but its getting professionally done... will update when it gets out! Already sanded and ready for paint...

Also painting the rims flat black with anodized red lip. Just for now until I get the flat black Rota p45r with red lip.... 17 x 9 et30

I just saw the spoiler... bad ass!!! It was primer, gonna be flat black paint. Has some sort of sealer, not a clear coat... Hope the rest turns out as good as the spoiler did. Body is PERFECT... no dents at all. :D:D:D

What is that red car in the background and what is the story behind the 4 foot wing?

So are you planning on putting down a black base coat and laying down a flat clear?

Dont leave it the way it is. It will never last and it doesnt look good.

Dont take that personally, I love flat black, I have a satin black eclipse of my own. There is a right way to do it. You just dont make it clear whether or not you are persuing those efforts.

Okay sorry abour that... the way it is in the pictures is before I sanded it. It was a dark rattlecan primer job, and I agree it looked like crap. The finished product will be a flat black paint, sprayed by a professional painter, with a sealer. No clear coat, but has a very "satin" appearance. The spoiler was done yesterday and looks amazing. Should have pics of spoiler today.

Oh yeah it was a great trade!! My civic was super clean, but this thing is gonna be a monster when I'm through. I had a 97 gs-t, but had to get rid of it after a divorce a few years back... Missed it ever since.

So here is the single stage paint he is using, and again it looks amazing in person!!

I've wanted to do a flat black/satin paintjob but wasn't sure how good it'd look. That paintjob is very car specific on how it looks on the body. There was a Mercedes (I think) that had a satin paintjob and it looked sick. I too am looking forward to the completion of this project.

So here are the updates... Color looks great, all parts are painted. Paint reacted to some previous bodywork on the car, causing weird spots to appear after paint was shot. Car still at shop until repairs are made. Overall looks damn good! Started painting the rims, anodized red color looks great on lip. Will finish with painting the rest of the rim black.

*** Better pics will come when it gets out. Lighting is weird in shop, and i took these with my phone. Just wanted to give a general idea of how it is turning out.

Got it back last night, and I am very pleased with the job overall. Still has a couple spots where previous body showed up through paint, but that is being handled in a couple of weeks, along with two new fenders (old ones are chopped and screwed!!!). Anyways, let me know your honest opinions. I had my doubts too, but it turned out really nice IMO.:D:D:D
