So after reading and looking up some basic questions on Dsm cars I still do not know how much boost my car is running. I have seen on some places some say 7 while others say 9. Anyone know the direct number. Thanks

Air restrictor removal should get you to 13 or 14 pounds if you're looking for a small gain. Mine read 13.5. You can't expect much more than that, as the stock BOV forces open around 14psi.
So if it is 12 the car can handle 15 with no problem. Why do some people make it seem like its a huge hp gain from 12 to 15 when its about 30hp. I really thought it was about 9 so when you would boost 15 it was a huge gain.
Well i guess 30hp is a big gain just from a couple things. Guess i just was looking for more.
If you are looking for more, you are going to need more supporting mods. A bone stock DSM can handle 15 psi with ease. Any more then that you start to heat soak the intercooler and run out of fuel.
I would like to see you get 30 hp from any other mod, like an intake. Especially on a N/A car. 30 hp from just upping the boost 3 lbs, that is crazy good power.
But if you want bigger power, upgrade your fuel system, get something to tune with, and then you can crank it up a little bit more. But at that point I would suggest just going with a 16g along with the previously mentioned supporting mods of course.
On a stock 2g should be around 10-12psi. I know on my car when I first put the gauge I was around 11 psi. Then I pulled that boost restrictor from the solenoid I went up a lb. All on the stock bov after I put the controller in I set it for 16lbs but it would fall quickly to 13 steadily. Hit up vfaq for free/cheap mods and simple maintenance to make a little more power safely.
Well i have read all up on vfaq, i just wanted a good idea of more less what i am going to be getting once I put in my mbc and gauge. I just want to see if there is a difference after i up the boost the 3-4~psi and just get an intake and chop my muffler off.
On vfaq and other postings i have seen multiple posts that the car should run a mid 15's given the driver. I have played around with the car(bone stock still) and it just seems very weak. So like i said i just want to get a better understanding of how the car is now and the difference with the small mods I will be putting into it within the next couple days.
im not entirely sure. i used to have it at 17psi i have dropped it down since, but it would go up to 17 and then drop down to 15psi. any ideas where to start looking? im kinda new to working on my car myself
^ Or that. I have a friend with a 2g, with the t25. He said it spikes like 17 and holds 12. So that could also be your problem. What turbo are you running?
Andrew
EDIT: Nevermind it says he is running a hahn racecraft super 20g.
i pretty sure that i have the racecraft 20g too. The lady that owned it before me did alot of the mods and she wasnt even sure about what turbo, don;t ask me how but she doesnt.but thats what it will do spike up to 17 and then hold like 15
I will second this. I got mine at autozone though, for still $60. Great gauge, not one problem with it.
Like mentioned earlier, it might be just spiking instead of leaking. You could get a dump tube which would help figure it out.
