TurboDropTop if you bothered to read the rules before you posted this crap you would notice it says Killed a Corvette? Mauled an M3? Tell your story. (Note: DSMtalk.com does not condone reckless or excessively high speed driving on public streets.)

The "Soccer mom" calling your parents isn't as bad as it could get, you could have killed her or her soccer KIDS in the process, and i'm sure you can imagine what would happen to yourself crashing at 115mph.

Well she could have called the police since from the sound of it she had enough time to not only get your name but she could have taken down your plate number. Especially if one of the other drivers called it into the police. Now that being said what you did was a stupid thing to do. At what point in peoples minds does it seem like a good idea to race down public roads with other cars around? So because you had a woman in your car with you when somebody passed you it somehow demanded that you race him to try to regain some of your stolen manhood? Just because somebody else chooses to drive like a ass clown doesn't mean you should join them.

 

Congratulations, that was the most irresponsible story about racing on public roads I've read this week. :crackit:

ok man, I can understand on an abandoned road by yourself, but thats just plain stupid with 3 passengers in the car on a 2 LANE ROAD, your endangering their lives, and your own, as well as the aformentioned soccer moms, thats irresponsible and stupid, she did the right thing in calling your parents, you seem to need a lesson in responsibility, its stupid on a two lane highway in congested traffic, you deserve to have your liscence taken away for that, you only put about 10 other people besides yourself at risk, if you must street race, first off dont do it on a 2 lane road, and second, dont do it in traffic, some common sense is a good thing, its people like you that are the reason the cops pull over anyone with even a lightly modded car

You didn't took into account the lives of those girls that were with you at that time. What would have happened if you had got into an accident? What would have you done if they lost their lives in that accident? What would have you told their parents?

This has been one of hte most irresponsible stories I have ever read in my life, let alone one of the dumbest. Go back to driving school and learn how to drive and how to behave properly on the road!!

Yea, man I used to pull that kinda stupid shit when I first got my car, then I got this thing I believe you've heard of it COMMON SENSE. Street racing is bad enough, but add into the fact you've got passengers which are more lives that could be lost if you screw something up. I remember an incident this past summer involving a race and one of the cars being a convertible a guy driving with 2 girls in the car. Other car lost control, hit the median, caught air and decapitated the people in the convertible. btw our medians are like a ramp almost its not like a grassy spot in between the road, its like 2-3 foot high concrete with a ramp leading up onto some of them. Moral of the story: DON'T BE A DUMBASS. You're lucky she didn't call the cops.

 

not to justify myself, but at no point did i even come close to hitting another car, the RSX, i can't be sure. But when i was flying the road is straight for miles and i only passed people when goin around 50 in a 35 (and if you say a lowered eclipse with sway bars and Illuminas could lose it and kill people changing lanes goin 50, ur a complete retard. And I race at the track, obviously, I know what i did was stupid and irresponsible (the passing in a double yellow, the other stuff wasn't that bad) but the point is I didn't hurt anybody, if I had than good lord by all means show me the handcuffs. O and the Police couldn't have done jack had she called them. I don't know about the laws where you ppl are, but around here, they can't do anything on a persons word, they have to see it. We've had this come into play quite a few times around here over the last year or so.

Also, anyone that says keep it on the track obviously is not a high schooler.

 

o and in response to the rules, it says that because they don't encourage street racing. Beleive it or not 99% of the stories in this section are about *gasp* street racing. Whoa!

Granted I wasn't being serious but still that was pretty mean of her to overexaggerate that much. That's like someone calling the my parents saying that I rode a four-wheeler through their yard, tearing up flowers and their grass when I just rode my bike down the sidewalk. If she could read the letters on his jacket then he couldn't have been going that fast.

 

i know, for god sakes, apparently she has the best vision of all time. If only i would have had my name at the bottom of my jacket instead of across the top. lol. weird how things work out like that isn't it.

i read one on the supra forums that makes this one look like normal driving.

guy in a mullet mobile apparently attemps to crash the other persons car if it is only a import..

 

I was called in one night for going "excess of 100mph in a 45mph" by a lady in a ford taurus. Hmm.. officer..lets sit here and think about this for a moment..how the fuck did she get my plate number? Oh thats right..its impossible!


Just be careful out there ok.. these recent accidents and deaths are making it harder to get away with street racing.. and its pissing me off.

 

Yes you were going that fast cause in the orignal post you said that he was going about 115mph and you were gaining on him so that means you were going faster then 115mph and had to stop for a stopsign. They usually don't put stopsigns on freeways so we'll assume that this was at a minimum in a business district but since you said this happened when you were on the two lane road and had to pass some traffic then yes you were going more then the 50 in the 35 that you later stated and if its a two lane road then that leaves the chances open for things like other cars pulling out or turning infront of you. Not to mention people crossing the street. So don't try to justify it later on cause you already clearly stated the conditions that this occured in.

there are cars in front of us on a 2 lane road (one each way) well he doesn't want to wait, so he crossed the double yellow and passes me along with all the other cars, i've got hotties in the car so i can't get upstaged so i also pull out and follow. He then guns it i follow gaining inch by inch until he brakes for an upcoming stop sign @ ~115mph

 

Man, I'll usually defend a friendly street race on open roads with all participants CONSENTING........ but there is NOTHING here to defend, you did eveyrthing wrong.

Completely irresponsible, you still sound pretty young though so hopefully you'll get over it with age. The whole time i was reading that it reminded me of all these street raceing accidents i've been reading about lately. Just because your car is lowered with sway bars doesn't mean a tire couldn't blow out or your diff lock up or something out of your control. I have done some stupid shit too and as im getting older, i feel the urge to do something then i think twice about it and usually convince myself not too. It's not worth the risk. If i was a parent in my car and i saw some young kid doing 115 IN TOWN passing on a 2 lane DOUBLE YELLOW road i would sure as hell make every attempt to report or discipline them. If you were just out by yourselves racing then thats another story but when you endanger other people like that its stupid.

 

Try a few auto-x events and maybe sign up for a track day or two. Hell there are usually some 2 day road course events that are reasonably priced. Like $125 for two days of serious track time in a controlled environment with a EMT crew there. You can also get ride alongs with the trainers that are worth while.
