Hey guys,

I tried writing in my old thread and it seems that when a thread gets to be longer than one or two pages....people dont bother looking too much.

I have been hacking away at my current project car...91 talon awd, which I aquired for a stear of a deal for the parts that are on it. I have been fussing with a wierd intake problem for some time now. Replaced almost everything that is usually the culprit. Finally, today as i was about to pull my intake.....exhaust was already off...I decided to hook up my boost tester to the TB going straight into the engine. I pumped it up and I could hear this loud hiss and the pressure would drop off quick. I located the leak to be coming from the TB where the shaft travels through. I have heard that the seals go bad in the TB shaft so i am assuming this it my problem.

Question is.....with such a small area for air to escape, would this cause the car to fall on its face at 10 lbs or higher boost and not even run right without clocking off the lower half of the mass sensor???

I did find that my valves seem to be leaking oil at the seals on cylinders 2 and 3. There was oil on the gasket surface when I took the exhaust manifold off. Would this be causing any problems in performance or would it just cause the car to smoke???

Thanks guys.

The valve seals will just cause the car to smoke for the most part. Replace those TB shaft seals and I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Well either that or you will find another leak, its a DSM afterall.
