Like I said the more people who chime in to it being good makes me feel better. I dont wanna run a blowthrough setup just to vent ya know?

and when I searched I saw alot of threads where people were bitching about the TIAL's, but then again every one who bitched had a different style bov in there profile mods list

Thats great, but blowing off isn't the issue. I want to make sure it wont leak, witch has been answered it wont, but I'm using a 2gmaf/dsmlink combo and this is where I am screwed apparently. because I cannot recirc it. and as we all know venting with out a blow through or speed density setup causes a less than desirable drivability issue that is not stalling at lights, and not having to set your idle at 2k to not stall at a stop. I am currently researching pros/cons of speed density and gm maf/translator setup. trying to decide which way to go.

just to chime in, im runnin a TIAL wit hthe blow-thru set-up and dsmlink. i bought the BOV from RRE and never opened it up to see what spring it has, but if i remember correctly it has the 11psi spring. no problems at all, no adjustments were made. and the sound is nice, sounds more like a snorting bull between shifts. im running a FP3052.

go aem, i never stall with the tial even after wot and then slowing down to a stop. And still using the maf. No speed density or blow thru setup.

are you refering to EMS? because Im not awfully crazy about spending that kind of money when I already have DSMLink, and by maf I assume stock or 2g maf?

also Spock, I am using 3in intercooler piping and am gonna have to hack it up to use a blowthrough gm maf/translator, witch is fine if I have to, but you havent encountered any problems with tuning or drivability? That may be the easiest/best/ even cheapest answer to my problems.

thanks guys.

Shott, he's running blow thru.
Not the stock MAF.

His first post said no blowthrough or speed density..... I am all teh confused.

I think I'm just gonna try it with link, and 2g maf. see what happens. if it is the suck, I will probably try blowthrough next. if that sucks.... I'm just gonna go all out retarded and sell blowthrough, 2g maf, and dsmlink and go EMS and speed density FTW!

^^^ dsmlink and stock 2G MAF i wouldnt run that at all with a tial BOV. personally thats a 1g BOV recerculated set-up for me.

but just about the only way to run a TIAL for dsm is blow-thru, AEM EMS, or HK$ VPC configurations.

I ran a Tial BOV with a 9psi spring on a 2g MAS with DSMLink with the intentions of only running it like that for a few months until the DSMlink guys were to incorporate direct speed density or GM MAF capabilities. I now run AEM EMS for the exact reason you speak of, if that tells you anything. The car ran absolutely horribly and would stall out multiple times a day because the rpms would drop. I went speed density by using the AEM and have yet to look back, took me all of an hour to setup. There are two options for running that BOV, a speed density capable standalone, and the GM MAF. Personally, I loathe the GM MAF and everything it stands for, so the option for me was clear. Good luck

Thanks Chris, I appreciate every one's input. I gotta quit dicking around. I have been searching and searching trying to find 1g information and so far all I can find is 2g stuff incorporating the 3bar map w/ EMS through the stock MDP sensor wireing etc etc etc. 4 hours alone last nite was spent on the issue searching. If any one has any info to that, it would also be greatly appreciated. For now Im Just gonna keep looking.

The TiAL BOV is fantastic, but it flows a serious amount of air as Asmodeus said, and I have never used it on any of my lower boost daily drivers.

I personally think it requires high boost or stand-alone to function properly, but that doesn't mean it won't work with smaller turbos and piggybacks.

The latest BOV that I have been very impressed with is the Synapse Engineering Synchronic unit. Designed to function as the SSQV, but with a piston instead of a diaphragm.

Check it out...

We used it on a 16g, 50 trim BB, and a 60-1.

From 6psi ~ 33psi.

On all of them.
Never opened it, never had a problem.

Matt, you're stuck. Blow thru/speed density, or no tial.

Spock said "I'm running a Tial WITH blow thru."

GM MAF is tricky. But not impossible.
Thats your option.
I have no idea if a 3 bar MAP can be input into a 1g via DSMlink.
I have only played with it on a 2g.
