I don't necessarily mind a kit as long as it is well done, but when I see people getting kits and then trying to modify it even more themselves, and it looks horrible, I hate it. I also hate that the guys who spend all their money on show still think their stock motor is awesome. I'm not trying to start anything here, because the 420a has its fans, but when a guy thinks his stock GS with it's vinyls and crappy paint and big ass spoiler can beat my 350 tpi Z28 while I'm on the way to work, I get irritated.

S13-14's lately are the trend here. Mostly kids who bought them already hooked up but can't drive for shit. And VW's as long as they are turbo.
Sorry, but this thread does have the potential to lead to an arguement.

I kid you not, VWs are taking Philly over. I didn't even know what a Corrado was until I saw a bajillion of them at a local meet one week. But kitted Civics, or just civics with cans on them and the crappy driver mod, dominate pretty much the entire country.

Theres a dude in my town with a 2gb gs, with a pearl white paintjob with candy red and grey flames , and an airbag suspension. Oh and a cheap ass exhaust. He reve'd at me on a light ... so i launched on him lol. He thought his flames were gonna make him go faster.

There was also a girl with a pepto bismol pink 2gb GST, she was hot so it was cool with me . But other than that its "JDM" civics or wannabe drifters hanging McDonalds toys from there back bumper.

I know this is a depressed economy area and everything, (Utica NY) but the absurdity of this "scene" locally is beginning to make me sick. People in Utica are so broke they actually cannot afford civics for the most part (!!!). There are alot of 80's accords, crx's and preludes. Also a great trend is not painting your car. People don't even primer their shitboxes anymore, they just slap on different colored panels, lower it by cutting the springs, and stick rims from a different car on there and tell me they're "JDM". People around here can't even afford bodykits.

Personally wish people would quit ragging on each other over what they do to their rides.

I second that. It's a lot more grown up to just accept what others do to their cars. It's their choice, if you don't like then oh well. No need to take it a step above the norm and put out by calling people ricers and everything else. I find it childish at the least. It just totally annoys me that if someone has a body kit on their car they are called "rice" and many other things. You know you can have performance and a body kit.

But, whatever it's not like anyone will listen anyways. People enjoy bashing other peoples styles. It's not like what I say will change anything. I just find it immature.

Here in Germany, the last years it was cool to run with altezzas, big wings and halo-projector-headlights: just all the stuff the little boys see at the cinema or in magazines from the US.
But since one year or so, it's getting back to stock & clean look. Just wheels, springs and a nice color.

Well, the Missouri Rice Truck just stopped at someones house across the street so I got a picture.

Mmmmm! Hood Scoops and Lime Green Racing Stripes....that's gotta add at least 15hp(5 for each scoop and 5 for the stripes).
Guess you didnt notice the wing on it.

I see plenty of riced out cars around here, and every where else for that matter, but the most prevalent seems to be :tat: Fender vents ...

http://www.slickcar.com/fender-vents.asp

I live on a military post and you generally only see newer cars around here, my only explanation of this junk is that they're afraid to do anything else to the car, being that you only have to stick these on with two sided tape. You literally see these on 80% of the cars around here!!
My thoughts of the driver every time I see 'em :chair:

Too many black rims, it looked good for a while, now its a big lip contest too...UGH! It looks good, just way overdone IMO.
At least the scene has cleaned up here, the strong silent type of cars I guess.

hehe
I like them but I don't think every color paint job needs black rims. Some cars just look better with blakc.

Persoanlly if people would ignore trends and do what THEY like we'd have a great variety of styles out there

IE I really like tall spoilers but now adays I'd get flamed hard core if I had one

Fuck that. What else would we make fun of. We have to let everyone else know that we as DSM'ers are clearly better then everyone. Not by plastic body kits and non functional wings on FWD cars, but by our running once a month, jackstand warriors. Ripping on rice FTMFW!
