Just tried switching it up around 5 different times same error the full error reads:
"Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1048576 bytes) in /usr/home/dsmtalk/public_html/forums/search.php on line 923"

And thanks for fixing the title.

Here's the basics of what you'll need.

1G Manual Tranny Turbo Harness (not the automatic, non-turbo, or any other ones. Yes, the complete harness.)
Transmission(some will argue that you don't need one, but the gears in the FWD Turbo Transmission are different than the N/T tranny, and plus the turbo trannys are stronger too.)
clutch/flywheel
Manual Tranny turbo ECU
injectors
Fuel pump(??)
Boost Gauge(just go ahead and buy an aftermarket one, you'll need it later)
Motor/Tranny mounts(just get new ones, you'll thank me later)
Knock sensor from the Turbo motors
Manual Tranny Turbo MAF sensor
Side-Mount intercooler from the turbo models
turbo piping for the SMIC(you can find them easily)

It's not a LONG or hard project per say, it's just VERY time consuming. Especially the engine harness install. You have to completely take out the old one, and thread the new one in, one by one. And if you don't know anything about DSM's, you are going to fail miserably as you need to know where each and every little connection goes.

There is much, much, much I've probably forgotten, but unless you got a deal on everything listed above, I would just save your money and buy a Turbo DSM. You never know what condition of a motor that you are getting out of a junkyard, and DSM's (even brand new freshly rebuilt) will still break on you.

Save yourself some time and headache, and just buy an already turbo'ed DSM.

Thanks so much for the all the info.
But the thing is me and my dad bought the car and re-painted it by ourselves so I would like to keep the body. The last engine blew and the only engine around me is a turbo. So it would not be worth it to you guys then?

TURBO is great.
But its going to be a lot of work, and you'll have to do some searching for more parts than just the motor..
The Good news is, that most (all) of those parts listed for the swap are lying in the hands of this forum's members. By that I mean looking at that list I have most of those parts sitting in boxes in my garage.

Oh turbo is definitely worth it, it's just a time consuming project. :D

But if you have your dad to help out, it shouldn't be TOO long. It'll still take awhile, but not as long as just you by yourself. I've done the swap before, and the only issue is the accursed engine harness. It takes FOREVER to hook up.

These are rough estimates, could be more or less depending on if you’re a good deal finder. And this is not a f/s but just here to give you an idea of where you stand.

clutch/flywheel –Used aftermarket f/w clutch pressure plate ~150
Manual Tranny turbo ECU –non eprom ~100
injectors- 450’s ~100
Fuel pump(??) Walbro ~ 100
Boost Gauge(just go ahead and buy an aftermarket one, you'll need it later) ~20
Motor/Tranny mounts(just get new ones, you'll thank me later)~?
Knock sensor from the Turbo motors –used oem ~50
Manual Tranny Turbo MAF sensor ~30
Side-Mount intercooler from the turbo models ~40
turbo piping for the SMIC ~20
Good luck.

Thank you sir.

If your going turbo right away, I'd look for a front mount and skip the side mount, but thats just me.

Also, something no one has mentioned yet, a Haynes or Chilton repair guide will be an amazing help, esp with the wiring harness. $15 and you've got a nice guide that will answer tons of questions.

VFAQ.com may have some things that will help you with your project. http://members.shaw.ca/costall/1000Q/ is another good site, but not as "specific" as the VFAQ pages...

Correction the 450cc injectors are easily obtained for around $50. That is the normal going price for black-tops.

EDIT: Also, I have a used SMIC in good condition that I will sell you for $25 + shipping. PM me.
