Honestly, I am completely lost. There is no gasket on the outlet of the turbo to the lower intercooler pipe. Perhaps if you explained where the leak is more accurately?

 

I used liquid gasket available at any auto parts store for under $5. Works great for sealing boost leaks.

 

the leak is very near the turbo not really sure where exactly, it looked like there was a gasket there...

The lower intercooler pipe merely clamps onto the outlet of the turbo with a worm drive clamp. It is possible that the coupler has ripped causing your leak.

Try spraying some soapy water on the area when the pressure is applied. It will help you narrow the area down where the leak is happening.

 

Gasket between the turbo and the outlet elbow is what i ment. Sorry.

That's what I used for my 16g. RTV Red is what you should use.

 

i'm assuming that since you have a 1g that you also have a 14b. on 2gs the intercooler pipe just clamps onto the turbo outlet. on the 1g there is a pipe that bolts to the turbo, similar to the "j" pipe that is sold in 16g 2g install kits. when i installed my 16g on my 2g, there was a gasket incuded in the kit that went between the turbo and the "j" pipe. i dont have a part number, but it couldn't be more than a couple of dollars at the dealer.

2G guys - 14b / 16g style turbos have a J-pipe that bolts to the compressor outlet... yes there is a gasket for it.

Part number: MD189460 - GASKET, T/C AIR OUTLET.

RTV Red is what you should use.

I upgraded to the 2.0" 16G compressor outlet elbow when I installed my front mount. When I took off the elbow, I didn't even have a gasket! Apply a small bead of the red RTV around the inside of the compressor outlet elbow and re-install. No leaks, no problems.

Yeah, me too. I didn't get a gasket with the turbo/kit. I pressure tested it and sure enough there was a lot of leakage through it. RTV'd it, no problems since.
