i thought i was the only person from western pa on this board. i was not racing on route 8 recently. i have a black laser anyway. i live in pittsburgh, where do you live? there aren't that many dsmers in this area.

 

I actually live north of Pittsburgh, Freeport to be exact (not many people know where that is tho). I met a couple guys last night with 1st gen's from the area, there are i think 5 so far i have met up with on RT 8 that seem cool (all 1g's), a lot of them out there are rich snobs that i stay away from. I have a 2g TSI AWD that i run around in a lot everywhere from Pittsburgh to Indiana, always lookin for a fellow DSM'er to chat with.

 

you should drop me a line when you know you'll be in the 'burgh. i have a 1g with a blown turbo (soon to be replaced i hope). i have read posts of like 2 other guys in the area, but i never see them around.

I live in Ohio, but I'm working in Mercer right now. Are you familiar with this area?

Maybe over the summer we can get something together for western PA, maybe all hook up or somethin. I'm not too familiar with south of here, only how to get to pitts. and how to get home (sometimes) I know of 2 guys up north not to far from here, one in kittanning and one in indiana, i've never met any of them so maybe we could get a little group together and trade stories or somethin.

Sounds like a good idea! I think my balance shaft belt split the other day so this weekend is no good (getting fixed on Tuesday). I'll be pretty busy the next few weeks also since I'm graduating in less than a month (need to finish my senior project and give an inservice) and have to plan my trip to San Jose (leave on May 22nd). If I get any free time I'll let ya know. How far are you from Pittsburg? North, south, east, west? I'm about an hour northwest.

I live about 30 min north of pittsburgh towards Kittanning, if anyone knows where that is. I dont' know a whole lot of the area in pittsburgh so maybe we can meet somewhere before there, i do know a little of monroeville or harmarville if any of you know where that is. In fact i work at the McDonalds in Harmarville if anyone wants to stop in and steal my car (it's not much to look at yet but i'm tryin to juggle school/work/social life/new g-f/hunger for tacos. So basically the girl takes up all the time and i try to squeeze the tacos in around her Anyways, PSU is lettin up here next week if anyone is interested in a meeting sometime.

 

k-i know how to get to harmarville, but my car is not operational right now. i hope to have my car fixed for good in the next 2 weeks. then we will get together, unless you want to hang out before then. i'll bring my dad's camry.

 

Well, i seem to have some bad news with my car, the short of it is i need to figure out what's wrong with the E-brake and why it decided not to stay in gear. needless to say looks like more money to go towards crap i can't afford.

After reading your post sleek, i do believe i have met you before (informally). I was with a couple of friends that live in apollo, we were all hanging out with the guys from extreme in the Lower Burrel parking lot (Ames). I was the one with the $5 paint job on the piece of crap blue/white/green mustang and i think you may have been there. I remember a red GS with the body kit rolling in (yellow stripes?) I don't know, it's just a guess. I was talking to the guy who has the avenger and there was also a 'lude there. Anyways, yeah we'll have to hook up sometime, i'm always in the area (apollo, freeport, lower burrel) look for the car sometime

Well this weekend is kinda bad because i work. But next weekend (sunday the 6th) I'll be racing at the North Park autocross, if you wanna stop up i'll be there defending myself against the "big american v-8's" as 20 ESP Let me know if you're interested in going or even running.

 

Next weekend I'll be up carlisle. but next race after that I'll go up might even race one of these times. I work doring the day so one night come hang out with us. I haven't hung out anywhere lately I've been in my friends garage helping him paint his prelude bright ass yellow. I was just in Freeport tonight.

 

I was planning on going to carlisle on friday but i dont' know if that's going to happen now (i'm sooo short on cash) The next race after this one is may 20th http://www.fyi.net/~nhscc and i will be there assuming my car doenst' decide to wreck itself again in a parking lot. I know what you mean by that. I tried to send you a message tonight but you were not on. How the hell did you manage to wreck your in a parking lot. I might not be going to carlisle this weekend I think I might my new tires instead, they're starting to show theads on the inside because are toed in way to much. but if I don't go I'll come up to North Hills to check it out.

 

In all honesty i have no idea how it happend, i was not there to witness it, i was inside the store and i came out and it was across the lot in a pole, the E-brake still all the way up (didnt' hold?) and it aparently decided it didnt' want to stay in reverse anymore. That's cool if you come up to the park, i will be there unless i die or somethin cause i never miss a chance to race (it's just too much fun) You'll have to send me another message sometime. I looked for you in lower burrel tonight there was a group (i'm assuming extreme by the windshield banners) in the ames lot, there was a black talon, i dont' know if it was a TSI or not i didnt' bother to stay long enough, i always get odd looks. One of these days i'll get everything fixed on my car and still have $$ left over, course, not in this lifetime anyway

 

NO that wasn't me in the parking lot that night I was in washington township. you'll notice me I have red and silver graphics on the side until this thurs. I'm changing the design and color they will be red and white. I'm going up next weekend to North Park. Ricki one of my friends he races up there and he talked me into it. That sucks what happen to your car. Did you do any damage? You will get odd looks when you go there because they don't know you' but they're pretty cool. I'll be out tonight so stop out.

Heres some info on sunday: if you'd like to race, you have to be there BEFORE 9:30 to register, they cut it off at 9:30 no exceptions. it's $12.00 to race, make sure everything is out of your car (you can do this there if you want) The races usually start around 10:30 (drivers meeting) to 11:00 (the track will be open for walk throughs during this whole time usually) you get 3-5 runs depending on the turnout so usually we get 4 runs. sleek what car does your friend drive up there? As for the damage to my car it's not nearly as bad as the picture, most of that white ended up coming off so that's good, looks like i'm going to get some tinted turtle wax for now to cover it a bit till i get the cash to fix it. Well i look forward to seein you guys on sunday then, just look for the car i'll be around, btw, the name's Kurt
