My intake is on the way, and then i think i will be getting an exhaust system. I was wondering what i should get after that. A BOV? Please help me with the order of things around my eclipse. By the way, it a 96 gs~t.

Agree with Greenstreek but....

I would go in a different order. If you got a 3" exhaust, some people tend to get a little boost creep with it, so I would think a Boost Gauge and MBC would be next and then the UIC pipe. That way if you do get a little creep going on you will "see" it happening and be able to adjust with the MBC. Just my .02.

Check out any of the major DSM vendors sites, check out their power stages sections. Anything you've skipped, you need. These stages are tried and true, proven many times over...

The one thing I disagree with on their stages, is the FMIC. They always have it last...

Thanks for ur replies, they are appreciated, but im sorry im stupid,

WHAT IS?:

a CBV, is it a BOV?

and im thinking about a 2.5" exhaust, is that a good idea?
what will be the difference in the 2.5" and the 3" exhausts?, torque changes, for better or worse, hp changes, better or worse?

thanks

the best exhaust for a turbo car is no exhaust. Go for the three inch now and save the time with having to get one later when you need it. I notice I lose some low end torque with my 3" turbo back but now revs freely with huge power increase at the top end. In fifth gear at 30mph you can feel the car wants to change down a gear where as it didn't feel like that with the stock system.

I would definetly start with a good TUNE UP then a boost gauge so you know what you gain as you mod you should probably get an AF gauge at this time as well, then get a good quality MBC if your worrying about the boost creep with your exhaust I would just go ahead with the exhaust you should be fine with a 3" and definetly in the clear with 2 1/2" and with the gauge you will be able to monitor, after that get rid of that restrictive UICP and leaky 2g BOV I recommend Hahn Racecraft stage 2 UICP with a greddy type -s or save some bucks and do a 1g bov they work great then if you havent already put on a good MBC, (Joe P makes a good one $50) now with the new BOV you can crank your boost up then you will want to think of rewiring the fuel pump.

Well on a 2g the way that i went was: 1st. get your self a boost guage and boost controller and dont boost more than 14psi. 2nd. do yourself a favor and get your self a upper intercooler pipe w/ a BOV and air filter w/adaptor. A 1g BOV is the cheapest and doug at ddynopower.com and buschur from bushurracing sell them at a good price. 3rd get a exhaust and if possible a downpipe with testpipe and again doug or buschur and also a good upgraded fuel pump. 4th get rid of that damn t-25 turbo and get your self a 16g or big 16g. I would recommend the small 16g if you dont want to mess with the upgraded injectors yet. Once you get the upgraded turbo turn up the boost to around 17-18psi. this should keep you busy for a while. What ever you do dont take the honeycombs out as your car will not run as good. If you come across fuel cut do it the right way and get your self a SAFC.

Must Have Upper I/C piping

Blake, get the upper I/C pipe, BOV, and intake as soon as possible. I noticed the biggest difference in the upper I/C piping with 1G BOV. I just got done spending $525 on a custom 3" high flow cat, 3" catback and 3" muffler. I'll tell you this did not make as big of a difference as the upper I/C pipe did. I bought a Brode pipe for 70 and a 1G BOV from tallahassee for 70. $$140 bucks well worth it.

hey, my intake is in the mail, and i'm getting a 1g bov, and upper ic piping. afte that, i think im interested in getting a manual boost controller.

anyone know any good brands of manual boost controllers that i should get for my 96 gs~t

your suggestions a greatly appreciated.

also, should i save for exhaust after i get the manual boost controller? i dont really want to wait till i got 500 something dollars before getting something else.

how much hp does an exhaust system really add for my car,(96 gs~t) aftr its got intake, ic piping, 1g bov, and the manual boost controller?

thanks, blake
