I recently rebuilt my 95 gst 4g63 engine, after starting the engine it makes a really loud howling noise like something is wrong. I found these when empting my cleaner, the cleaner was black and I never new these were in the bottom of the tank I use. The cleaner was changed right before the engine got rebuilt, and was ONLY used for engine parts. Anyone know what they are?? And better yet where they go! There are two of them and they are identical.

Is the inside of the hole tapered?

They look like valve spring retainers.

+ 2 on the valve spring retainers. They go at the base of the valve itself right where the valve guide is. On the top of the cylinder head.

+3 on the retainers.

You all were right. They are to my B20A5 Prelude head. Sorry about that, but at least it can rule out one possible cause of the noise my rebuild has.

Those are spring seats.
