Would really like a TSI awd, but cost and insurance dictate a nt fwd. You see test on the TSIs but not nts. What is the HP of g1 nt and g2 nt. How slow are they? How about mpg? Thanks for the info.

2g's at the crank are 140hp.
they are slow.
mpg? I'd guess anywhere from 18-22?

$500 A YEAR! Wha? How? I pay $3k a year with no tickets. What's your secret?

sorry but paying 3K a year for insurance is crap. I'd never pay that much.

Yeah, I know. I'm getting raped. I found another company that I can get it a lot cheeper and I am going to be switching over very soon.

Dont ask me. I got 500 dollar collision and comprehensive coverage deductable. But really nothing else except the required min which is like 1 other thing I believe.

I go threw allstate if that'd make a difference but it could also be because of where I live. I do know that I got a lot of money taken off for the alarm, and vehicle tracking, awd, air bags, ect. :)

i knew they were slow, but i thought it was suppose to be made up with the "better gas mileage" due to the NT. but dont we (turbos) get something like that 18-22? if not higher (if not driven hard all the time) man... that sucks. oh well.

they get more than 18-22 im sure, i get about 16-18mpg on my car in the city.

don't go with nt just because of insurance. I got a quote on insurance from my agent for 91 eclipse gsx, and it was only 100 dollars more than my accord (slow) 94 every 6 months. Of course, my rates= getting raped (shit, like 200 dollars a month) but my parents are paying it, and they chose it, so I don't care. When I pay it, I'm sure as hell not paying that much. One tip though: don't just go with liability, liability is really the bulk of insurance cost. get your car protected.

Some advise you guys with low insurance.. DON'T get too many tickets and lose your license. It's not worth it, trust me. I've lost my license twice due to speeding tickets and I am paying for it dearly. Insurance on my 98 GSX runs me about $340 bucks a month which = $4,080 a year. Don't waste your time racing a slow ass car just to show them their car is slow if it means risking getting pulled over by a cop.

Congrats to all you lucky people who don't have to pay much for insurance. Try to keep it that way! :D

I am only 17 and own a 95 awd. I dont pay very much for insurance at all. 500 a year.
The question is, are you on your own policy, or an addition onto your parents existing policy? I paid next to nothing when I was on my parents insurance. I'm on my own now and I pay roughly $100 a month. I'm 22 with no accidents, 3 speeding tickets and 1 other ticket in the 5 years i've had my licence (1 was out of state, so i'm not sure if that affected me).

shit man, i wish my insurance was cheap. on my 93 grand am, i would have payed 2500 a year on a car worth 2000. did i mention im almost 19, havent had a ticket or accident, and i took defensive driving? NY state is one of the most expensive as far as insurance. i havent checked into full coverage on my tsi yet, cuz i still drive the grand ma as a daily driver. tsi stays clean in the garage. plus i want to fix the little bit of body work first.

that better be liability only... i have 0 tickets, clean record, good grades, drivers ed, on my parents policy... and a 2g gsx is around 165/month... which is crap

Nope, that's full coverage on a 1997 Eclipse GS-T with only 36k on the odo. That's full coverage, glass...etc and a $500 deductable. I have my insurance through state farm and get hefty deductions for good student discount and accident free discount.
