Originally it was to go fast for less, but I have become a dsm mechanic. Its pretty cool..sucks though.

Well, I found my 1997 GSX for $7995 on Ebay...half across the country. lmao I'm from just outside of Kansas City, and FLEW, yes...FLEW to Connecticut to buy it!! hahaha I couldn't pass it up (plus I had my girl friend of about 2 days with me, once she saw the car she wanted to wrestle in the sack). It had 10 miles over 70k at the time, and absolutely no paint imperfections at all. The motor was spotless (like the exterior), tranny shifted great, and tires were in good condition. Looked like it had been garaged a lot of it's life. Hell, the guy even had his receipts and a running log of maintainence from oil changes and tune ups, to other minor repairs. When I started it, it purr'd like a sleeping kitten. No hiccups, check engine light, oil burning. WOW...too good to be true?? Thing is, 4 hours after I passed the cash and was on my way back to KS, I was T-boned. Yea, can you believe it? Some asshole ran a red light. BUT...I made out GREAT. The insurance company said the physical damage total didn't exceed the 75% value of the car, so they repaired the body. Well, in the course of repairing it, they noticed that the sub frame had a small dent in it, not affecting anything, but to repair it, would total the car. So, the body was freshly painted, car aligned, and even a new wheel and tire given. The insurance company gave me $10,000 for the car (what it KBB'd at), and told me the salvage value of the car was $1,600. So, do the math: Cost of car, $8,000, salvage value, $1,600...I ended up with $400 in my pocket, and NO car payments!!!! How lucky is that?? lmfao course...I learned very quickly of the infamous crank walk and had it rebuilt soon after...overall...an awesome deal :D

Didn't know shit about cars and was looking for a firebird or something like that. Well this guy at work had a 92 first gen. Then I got really interested when he told me it was black and he was asking 750 for it because he thought the a/t was going. Well it's held out so far and now I'm turning into a mechanic. Too bad everything sucks really bad when you've never done it before. I'd rather set a timing belt than change a ball joint right now.

Well since i got a ride home in one (1g TSi), one night from a party in 7th grade I couldnt stop thinking about them. So naturally when a buddy of mine bought one I had to have it. So he sold it to me for a grand, and its been a fun ride.

I bought my first DSM (I'm now on #4), because of going to school and I needed something more economical than my built 93 Chevy Stepside. But I told my family it was because I hated modern american cars. Almost gave em a coronary!:p
