Alright guys,

When I went to get gas yesterday my gas lid would not open, I had to get one of the attendants to come out and pull on it while I pulled up the lever. I was thinking about just attaching a spring somehow that would "shoot" the lid open whenever I pull the lever - however the gas lid ALWAYS gets frozen shut in the winter.

Anyone got any ideas or similar issues?

Thanks

Yea I have the same issue with my 1g Talon but luckily I can pull the lever and with my other hand reach to the gas cap lid and open it. Looks stupid but gets the job done.:p I should probably rig something up as well just to make it easier.

I fixed this issue just yesterday and I'll post pics of what I did but after researching this issue, I found that some other members here got a piece of fuel line/hose and drilled a hole in the hose then put a small bolt/nut in it at the fuel door. That way, the hose keeps pressure on it to open it. Either that or keep a screw driver handy to wedge under the gas lever :D Like I said, I'll post a pic later on what I did (can't now b/c the car isn't here)

I dont know if its the same situation, or if 2gs are different, but on my friend's 1g, he would pull the lever, the door would come unhooked, but he would have to push on the opposite side of it in order for it to fully open.

After comparing his to mine, I realized that the little metal tab that kind of pushes out the door fully had somehow popped out and was missing. So we just went to pick-n-pull and got a new metal tab. Its pretty small and in the corner of the door, it is held on by a small black piece of plastic.

Again, this might not be everyone's problem, but I figured Id post anyways.

I was talking to another shop that deals only with higher end stuff. Lambo, Ferrari, Maserati, etc. The subject came up as to what shop I worked at. I explained what kind of cars we specialize in and the owner just laughed saying he felt bad for me knowing how cheap "those kind of people" can be. Even exotic owners know about us. haha
